The lame explorer - jetpack by save hacking

I wish we were on the right track of exploring our way to a shiny new jetpack.. But the search hit a wall

The worst thing is we can't even prove that there is a jetpack / flyable ufo. Time to cheat?

Assume one of those exist and found, you are driving it, saving the game. It is now written inside your save.

What if we take our current saves and write it in manually? (much like the max health/money is done)

This will require some clever analysis of the save file (we have excellent starting points with the save editors already out there). Then, it will require some old fashioned brute forcing - guessing values and testing them out. I assume we'll have about 500 potential saves and we'll need to open them one by one. Anyone interested in helping out? Your save could have the jetpack inside ;)

Ahhhh! Finally spawned the damn cable car!

If a jetpack exists we will find it this way!

Good luck there finding something, IF there's something. The search has hit a wall because of the stupid kids - and it won't go anywhere that way.

So you're changing the bit of the save file that tells the game what you're driving?

Quite a clever idea as it turns out... but it's going to take you forever!

Changed the car i was driving in my save into a jet max:

Nice! This is gonna be off-topic but can you spawn and show the name of Snowy Police Esperanto and Police Rancher XL?

is this a specific byte offset in the gamesave? what values have you already tried so I don't duplicate your work.

I started with all vehicles I have a corresponding string name for

Like lazer = fighter jet

If anyone wants to help the easiest way I think is I make a bunch of saved games and you guys help opening them

I have to open each save manually and that takes forever

I think I've proven this method is working rather well. If there's a jetpack / drivable ufo I believe we have a real chance of finding it this way.

I've even managed to get a vehicle only available in a mission (see my last vid), so this is really promising.

Anyways, I'm stopping for now. This is taking too long.

I can make 500 saved games with every possible vehicle value and upload them somewhere. I need a few volunteers with ps3s that will help open each of those saves. Hopefully the jetpack will be in one of them.

If you want to help with this, plz post here

I might be able to lend a hand at testing saves. It would be interesting to see if you could get the tunnel boring machine.

I don't know if it was already mentioned, but the jetpack isn't considered as a vehicle but a weapon (If there's one) like in SA. So it will not be so easy..

If anyone wants to organize this search party, I'll be happy

We need to setup a place where all the saves could be uploaded to, and each tester could upload a photo that corresponds to what's inside this save

Oh really?

That sux. Can't you shoot while using the jetpack in SA?

Yes you can if my memory is good. He handle the Jetpack with the left arm, like on the mural.

Hmm.. I assumed it would be implemented like a bicycle or a bike that can fly.

Anyways.. We could still try and look for a ufo or other hidden vehicles and hope the jetpack here is a vehicle :)

But won't you have needed to have flown a jetpack at least once for this to work? Can you spawn a vehicle using this method that you've never been in?

Lelouch The Zero

Yes of course you can still try hee! I'd like to contribute but i play on 360. :(

It is possible on 360, there is a save hack editor specifically for the 360 version, google it.

I've posted the video of a skylift helicopter (the skinny one, look above)

I've never been in one before.. Never even noticed that they exist in the game before I spawned it by accident
