Weapon Crate glitch?

I get a notification in game "weapon crate is dropping" I rush to the spot, I'm there before the smugglers, they arrive, I kill them and the crate never drops on the flare, happened 3 times in a row. anyone else have this happened? The map icon never appears and the green highlighted circle stays there for the entire session. I understand the smugglers can take the crate, but only after the crate has dropped and the crate never dropped, this is crystal clear because the green map circle changes to the green box. I am talking about the crate never dropping and the green high lighted circle on the map never goes away. WTF is this sh*t?

Happens ALL the time. I just wait for the actual crate instead of heading to the green circle now.
