I just can't take it anymore. I really feel like I'm playing with a bunch of 16 year old retards shouting n****a n****a and fag all day through their parents-purchased headsets. Half the time I can't even understand them b/c of such sh*t quality it's a waste of sound and breath! I realize that quite a few of you guys are teenagers here as well but I just can't listen to this nonsense anymore lol. Even in free mode when I kill or get killed by someone I still have to hear their annoying voice bitching at me because I got the drop on em or calling me a n****a cuz they killed me - even with the chat set to no-one.

 

I'm really starting to dislike this game because I feel like I'm part of a community of young retards with a 4 word vocabulary. GTA really does attract some BAD crowds, worse than any COD game...

Mute your tv or just go in to a lobby with your friends

 

I sort of enjoy the sound of my bike/car so I don't want to fully mute the game, it also helps me hear gunfire/oncoming cars etc. R* seriously has not considered making a mute-all option in general options? I'd figure they know better judging from today's kids and online games...

stiff upper lip is all that can really be said. I can assure you that a lot of people put up with a lot worse. Just ignore it and move on.

on missions its annoying. mute all in select menu doesnt work and you can only do each person one at a time from the pause menu. too many clicks to get it done imo

This is one thing that I genuinely haven't experienced whilst playing GTA Online from day 1... I'll occasionally hear someone say something in a race/deathmatch lobby, but I don't think I've heard a single person on a headset during a free roam session? Do you need a headset yourself in order to hear them or something?

You can mute in Freemode yes, however when you make a kill or get killed they have an open 5-10 second window of chat communication (like a diss opportunity, cool, but very annoying given the general demographic in GTAO) The second issue is in missions, the lobbies and in game there's always some idiot teen saying "WEEEEEOOOOOEEEEEOOOOEEEEOOO" nonstop like a siren just to be annoying or any other dumb sh*t they say cuz they know you cannot mute during missions. This is what needs to be patched asap not glitches lol.

This works.

 

You could also plug your mic into your controller and turn the volume for it down all the way, which would be equivalent to "no-one".

hold select, scroll down to chat, set it to no-one, problem solved.

Don't get me wrong I know exactly what you are talking about. I feel you. But it seems to come with the territory of the internet,nature of the beast and all that.

 

until it is fixed, if ever, really the only thing that can be done is ignore it.

 

Like having loud neighbors who talk to their over seas relatives like they have to make their voice carry over the Atlantic. Like guys that like to have loud sex in dorms with girls that sound like howler monkeys. Like political activist who start yelling at you as you walk down the street because you don't support homosexuality.

 

just ignore it and move on.

I hadn't realized I was playing all morning with my player volume off on my headset. Turned it up and after 5 minutes decided I liked it better without the little kids getting angry and acting tough
