I also miss the good old days when companies cared about producing a quality product for the consumer. If you are going to screw your fan base, expect the same reaction from the fans.

PS4. I've had a PlayStation for as long as I can remember and I don't have any intention of switching to something new like an Xbox. The exclusives on PS4 appeal to me a lot more, too, and I wouldn't really be missing out on all Xbox One exclusives, as a lot of them will be available for me to play on PC.

It's not about the games themselves, it's about the fact that in every case of a multiplatform game we've seen so far, they have performed better on the PS4. This isn't just about graphics, either - framerate is also a huge determining factor, and no, framerate cannot simply be lumped into graphics (and if you truly believe it can, your judgement of a system's capabilities cannot be taken seriously). Not only has the PS4 been consistently putting out higher resolutions, it's been putting out higher framerates as well. All of this is because - as already stated numerous times in this thread - the PS4 is simply more powerful. That's all there is to it - in the previous generation, both consoles had strengths and weaknesses that basically evened out (the PS3 had the stronger CPU, but the Xbox 360 had more RAM available to games) - but that isn't the case this generation, one console is more powerful or equally matched in every aspect, it's priced cheaper, and people are content to turn a blind eye to these facts for a variety of reasons. Personally, I don't care which console any invidiual chooses to buy, I'm just tired of people acting like they're on equal ground when they quite clearly are not. There is a difference in performance, and people need to acknowledge it.

 

As for your "use their true power" remark, what true power? You're talking about two dumbed down PCs here, there is no true power hiding in the shadows waiting to be unleashed. These aren't like the previous consoles that had their own unique architectures with plenty of hoops to jump through to optimize for; both of these machines are running x86 architecture, which any developer is going to already be at least vaguely familiar with, and most competent developers will be very well established with.

I don't know where you got that information from but ubisoft hasn't confirmed the native resolution for AC4 on Xbox one yet ( multiplatform games on Xbone have an embargo).

 

But they did confirm it was running on native 1080p on PS4!

We don't know yet, and if it is 1080p, it is probably upscaled 1080p for the Xbone, and 1080p native for the PS4.

Although I hate them for everything they first said about the console and what they had planned to do, I'll be getting the Xbox One. I have both current gen consoles and play on the 360 a lot more than the PS3 and the gamerscore I have will pass over, I'll still keep the 360 though.

Also I can't get used to the PS controller one bit.

I might but the PS4 at some point for exclusives but time will tell.

So just cause it says 1080p on youtube doen't mean its true. I can look up videos of GTA V 1080p on PS3 and 360 yet it isn't true 1080p. Please use real information and not some misguide fool who doesn't understand that 1080p on the TV doesn't mean its 1080p for the game.

I don't have a problem with Microsoft but I do have a problem with their system that they feed lies into their sheep. The Xbox and 360 were great machines but now they are trying to ruin gaming with always on ( Sony saved us ), can't play used games ( Sony saved us ), and now they made it so you have to pay for online. Sony saw how no one complain about Live so they thought why not make even more money.

 

I also find it funny how the brain dead sheep try to defend the Xbox One 720p. There isn't much more they can do with consoles. What can they honestly do more? Make it 4K? No they can't. Consoles are going to reach their limit in a few years just like 360/PS3 did. Now I understand if one company can't get 1080p into their games like Rockstar couldn't with PS3 but if most companies can't even handle 1080p on the console then you have a problem. So far the only exclusive that might be 1080p on Xbone is Forza 5.

They're referring to both the PS4 and Xbox One in that article, so I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out just like Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4 in that the PS4 version is higher resolution but the Xbox One version is 720p. Right now, the only Xbox One game with a confirmed resolution of 1080p is Forza 5, whereas several other games have been confirmed for 720p, including Dead Rising 3 which is honestly the closest game to AC4 that the Xbox One has right now.

 

Until they outright state that AC4 is 1080p on Xbox One, I'm going to assume that it's 720p.

I would like to add that, Forza 5 is 1080p/60FPS because it uses a static, pre baked lighting System with no day/night transition (i.e nothing is going on the background). Most of the modern simulation games runs on the same Principe.

 

FYI, Ridge Racer 7 (PS3) was 1080/60FPS ffs.

 

I'm genuinely worried about the X1's capacity to handle games at 1080/60FPS

Apparently they were able to achieve 1080p/60fps thanks to "the power of the Cloud", but I've never really bought into Microsoft's fluff about it and I'm skeptical as to how much of an effect it really has on the game. I also think it says a lot that Forza 5, currently the Xbox One's only game confirmed to run at native 1080p, required the Cloud to reach that resolution whereas the PS4 has most of its games running at native 1080p without any sort of cloud computing. Microsoft keeps talking about it as if it's the best thing since sliced bread, but it's really not that impressive if all it can achieve is bringing games up to the same level of the PS4 while requiring a good internet connection to do it, something which many countries in the world are still lacking to this day.
