How long can one person simply "be patient".

I've got to agree with everyone that's upset with this game at this point. First Rockstar stated 700+ missions when they failed to mention that includes all the game modes. So really there's well under 100 total JOBS. Then Online hits and it still has server issues even after 3 weeks which I've never seen occur. The heist DLC is likely a month away until they know everything works.

We won't be seeing cash cards for some time yet either due to the sheer instability. I would like to have fun in this game but I'm afraid to even bother playing.

I never expected a game of this size and ambition to launch without a hitch. Anyone who knows anything about online games knows that there are certain things that cannot be stress tested in a lab environment.

WE are part of the early stress test, and either you have patience, or you DON'T.

Understanding the reality of what is happening, and what can be done to fix things is a HUGE part of it. You can continue stomping your feet and screaming like a 5 year old in the cereal isle at the supermarket, OR you can try to find enjoyment in the things that DO work in the game. You can also play something ELSE as well, but expecting an overnight solution to the issues within a massive new online project is incredibly ignorant.

You know what's ignorant?

R* sheep calling other people childish or remarks related to the such and then excusing their behavior as acceptable but if in a scenario a game casually hated on like COD had said issues, people would be mocking the hell out of them.

That's ignorance.

I wasn't expecting much from Rockstar for GTAO and had low standards for it to begin with, but I'm very surprised at how poorly they are managing it. They are acting like they couldn't give a f*ck less about their game.

Ambition takes time to realize - I find it easy to be patient because i'm having a ton of fun with the game, and I know that there are bigger and better things to come.

edit - the difference with a game like CoD having issues is pretty much what I said above - ambition. CoD's ambition is to be slightly better than it's last iteration, but not enough to make it hard to top it in the following year.

GTAO is a game that has been developed totally out of context to everything else that RS have done, with only a couple of slightly comparable titles on the market. I'd rather have a game dev try for something new and unique than do the same sh*t over and over again. It's like with the SP campaign - the three protag thing was an experiment, and I applaud them for it, even if I felt the SP was lackluster as far as story content goes.

Accepting inconsistent and rather lacking effort from a usually great company seems a bit ignorant.

It all depends on how patient you are of a person.

Normally one Month is to be expected for someone to be patient.

Haha. GTAO just got friendzoned by some of the gaming community. :miranda:

It's the first month.

you aren't being patient lol.

Yeah lol. I mean, it's not like GTA is made by a amazing company and it's not the highest grossing game ever. It's also not like they had any weeks ahead of time to work on this.

My bad.

You act as if they've had experience in doing what they are trying to do with this game, and you act like money would help them somehow solve problems they didn't expect to occur even faster. Also what does them being an "amazing company" have to do with anything? lol

do you even logic.

I don't know what standards YOU are holding them to, i know that games in GENERAL have issues that need patches after being released. This is a very common occurrence. Why would Rockstar be any different? ESPECIALLY considering the sheer ambition of this game.

You say that they are a "usually great" company, yet that doesn't allow you to give them the benefit of the doubt?

How is their effort lacking?

Just because they don't stop what they are doing every day in order to release statements about how everything is going, doesn't mean they aren't doing anything.

Do you REALLY think they are just sitting around and ignoring a game that is a long term online project for them?

What is it that you want them to do?

I've noticed a trend: Everybody who thinks this game is not any good isn't even playing the game--they're just trying to get the numbers, and too busy doing that to even consider having fun.

Yeah pretty much, just like the people that complain about money being hard to get expect to unlock everything in the first 3 weeks of the game being out for some stupid reason.

I've realized from these forums that 90% of people complaining about GTAO have no actual idea how online RPG games work.

You should stop trying to act like you're against childish posters when you're as much of a childish troll than any of the others.

"This is turning into an argument, I'm done... But let me provoke it even more."

Why should I expect more? Because it's their f*cking problem. They bit more than they chew. But the defenders of R* here are hilarious. "EACH GAME HAS ITS MISTAKES OMG."

So let's not voice the issues. Let's not voice displeasure. Let them find it themselves. Don't have an opinion or be fed up with the game. Just deal with it.

Seems as though if you can't forgive R* for their faults in a game that was hardly beta tested, and f I'm not mistaking they only did a test on the X-Box, you're in the wrong.

And yeah, how dare I be obsessed with cash in a game that's RAN by the need for money?

Want to go into a TDM? Money. Want to have a nice car? Money. Want to shoot people? Ammo. Costs money. Want to get a gun to stand a chance? Money. If you die? Money loss.

Yeah. How dare people care about the money? Not like it's needed.

Waited years for GTA v to come out, the least you can you do is wait until they sort this mess out. Personally I haven't ran into any of the known problems YET, but to bitch and whine like some on here is a bit over the top.

defiance is still a broken game. but to be honest i havent had any problems that a lot of people are talking about. (probably just jinxed myself).

The major major issues were predominately (not entirely) encountered by the people who woke up on release day and tried to play constantly, and even though things were not working, forced character creation and started on some gaming binge with a blind hope that everything would be ok.

I myself lost 3 characters in the first 2 days, so i'm not saying i'm not part of this crowd.

Since then, SOME people have lost data, but it's just mostly been more in game mechanic issues.

Yes, it is indeed your bad.

For not understanding that games are complicated beasts.

For not understanding that persistent online worlds aren't easy to maintain.

For not understanding that how much money made from the game has absolutely f*ck all to do with how many bugs it will ship with.

For not understanding that a lot of bugs couldn't of been noticed before the community got their hands on the game.

For not understanding that server load can not be accurately modeled when the amount of users is an unknown.

For not understanding that you haven't got the faintest idea about game development, or troubleshooting code problems.

For not understanding that for every glitch/bug/exploit you fix, another three potentially pop up as a direct result of fixing said glitch/bug/exploit.

And finally, yes, your bad, for not understanding that every opinion you have doesn't need it's own f*cking thread.

My patience has indeed run a little thin lately. I've been able to play lately, but I'm still scared to see the dreaded "timed out" screen over and over and over and over again attempting to get in to missions or matches. It's bad enough that I get booted back to SP afterwards, but sometimes pressing X doesn't click and I get stuck on the "timed out" screen. Or hell, I get kicked out of lobbies for no reason in the slightest. It's been waaaaay too long for this sh*t to still be going on, which is already bad enough, but R*'s only answer so far is that "WELL, IT'S YOUR NAT" ... f*ck off, will ya. I have NAT 2 and I've been able to play with no problems in all AC games, Uncharted games, Modern Warfare 3, Super Street Fighter IV, Mortal Kombat and Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway. But no, suddenly it's my NAT.
