How to add other mods to the Sheriff's SUV

So you have your Sheriff's SUV Tracked and insured but you want performance mods.

Short answer:

Do the sell any car glitch but instead of sitting on sell car, open the menus for other mods.(most don't seem to work though)

 

 

Caution: This is buggy and it seems you loose your mods if the vehicle is re-instanced (i.e. Blow up your car and you have to buy the mods again loosing the cash.)

Long answer:

1: Drive your Sheriff's SUV to LSC

2: Make sure your spawn is set to last location and switch to single player

3: Start and invite only session (You should spawn near or in your car next to LSC)

4: Park your car by LSC, find a random car, and drive it into LSC

5: Go through the menu like you are going to add Turbo to the car but don't buy it.

6: Go to the cash shop and leave repeatedly until you spawn in your Sheriff's SUV

7: Drive into LSC and add turbo to your SUV.

8: Have your car blown up and come back to this thread complaining that ADDING MODS THIS WAY DOESN'T SEEM TO STICK AND I PERSONALLY WASTED YOUR $30k

 

A lot of the menus for mods will come up blank. Just go to the cash shop and leave it and it should place you outside again. I was able to also add High-end tires to the car but it didn't work on the first try. After getting the blank menu I went to the cash shop and re entered without getting another car and somehow got it to work. All of the rim options were blank but showed the prices. I was able to buy them but there was no visual change in the tires and I couldn't tell if it handled differently.

 

I can't tell you why I got tires to work once. It's really buggy and shows front and rear tires like you are modding a motorcycle first. Once while doing this mod it loaded me in the game and my minimap was gone until I reloaded. I don't know what the key is to get other mods to work but I couldn't get engine upgrades to show up at all. Maybe it just showed a blank menu twice and driving back into LSC without finding another car did it. Maybe it was the fact that I was modding a SUV and the random car I drove in first was an SUV. I have no idea. I'm posting this as I hope someone explores the opportunities this creates. What happens if you try and add a body mod to a vehicle that doesn't support it? 99% of the time you will get a blank menu but if the devs left something in and just disabled it (their's quite a trend of that in this game) maybe you find a car with something left over.

I will also note that this doesn't help add mods or insurance to cop cars as you can't get them to load into LSC. I bet if someone found out how though but it didn't show insurance on the list, you could use this to add it...
