Driving/Vehicle issue while on GTA online...

Firstly hey all, first post here just wish it wasn't an annoyed one. Anyway, so I booted up GTA online this afternoon, hop into my personal vehicle and for some reason my speed is severely limited. The car has the first set of engine upgrades and I was happily speeding along the highways yesterday. So I look online, find no mention of this anyway.

 

I hop in a friends car only to find that while driving his car, exactly the same thing is happening. I'm getting overtaken by NPC cars.... Same thing happens in any flying vehicles. In planes I can't get enough speed to even take off or gain altitude.

 

Has anyone else experienced this?

Tried with GTA IV as well as another controller, no problems on GTA IV and even with the other controller it still has the same issue.

 

Edit: Just to add, all is fine in the story mode, it's just online I have severely limited speed.

The exact same thing happened to me in the first couple of weeks of playing. Jump into a car, nada. I thought I was being limited somehow. Stopped my car in the middle of chasing someone in a mission, thinking I'd be quicker stealing an NPC's bike. Nope. The same speed, even flat out. Weird.

 

After failing the mission (couldn't even get close to the other players, never mind stop them), I joined a game with a buddy. He started a mission, jumped in to drive and the same thing happened to him. We swapped places, and I took over driving - no problems at all. Wtf?

 

It's happened a few times, and I've failed countless missions and objectives due to it.

Yeah it's enraging to say the least, so many missions, so many bounties missed out on. I've got no idea how to resolve it, and there's nothing about it on the net at all.

To be fair, I've not had any problem with it for the past while.

 

For the first couple of weeks it drove me batsh!t insane, couldn't understand it at all. Thought I was just missing out on some key game mechanic. Hopefully it'll just resolve itself, like mine did after a while.

Nothing like being restricted while hammering the accelerator. Weirdly it seems to of sorted itself out after I turned the console off then back on again.

Just now experienced severe speed limit on both a personal and random car, triggers seem to be working properly, retarded my game and troubleshot on single player, fixed the simple issue. I've never had a random issue like this before.

Whoops! Seems to be fully sorted now, just aced a race without feeling like I want to break a controller through the sheer lack of speed lol.
