I got to play and rank up a brand new player, It was fun joining a series heist at level 1 and doing it perfect. Then being a rank 11 and watching gunner insurgents run from you after you blasted both 120 plus rank players out of it minutes earlier. Not once, but twice.

Nothing scarier than rounding a corner to pick on a newbie and you see a rank 11 player with a homing launcher. SWEETNESS ! had a lot of fun.

Two days later the new character is rank 25 and has a modded Kuruma and custom license plate.

I don't relate to your 1-on-1 experience as I suck, but I can relate to being a level 10 or 8 joining heists then kicking ass. Then when I was about 20 I decided I'd go for a Pacific finale (was too scared without my 9 armor slots) and did it perfect. Always excellent as well to use the Kuruma on setups where you know you'll get sprayed by the AI (yeah, you use a Kuruma you are a noob blah blah) then have level 200 players reach on their T20s to destination and get blasted 10 seconds later.

Also amazing when I get to kill the last two guys on the Avi setup (rescuing), take Avi on the boat, then drive to the beach, get on the kuruma and reach town, lose stars in 30 seconds and deliver the guy, while everybody else is confused opening their maps and asking what the hell am I doing and why didn't I take the slow ass boat up the river.

I'm so happy with this second character that I haven't touched 1st one in a while now.

Not trying to sound like a dick, honestly, but why buy a Gauntlet when you can just steal one?

You don't sound like a dick at all, actually. haha I didn't even realize that Gauntlets were storable off the street! When I first started out in GTAO in 2013, I recall that I had to buy my first Gauntlet off of southernsanandreassuperautos.com. I remember it pretty clearly because I was just fresh off of the final Heist mission in the story mode, the one with the suped up Gauntlets and I had decided that when I made my Online character, his first car would be a Gauntlet. But then I got online, picked one up off the street and Los Santos Customs kept refusing to let me put insurance on it. So I settled on a Sabre Turbo as my first car, which I don't regret, I still own my first one to this day and drive it a lot. But because of that first day in GTA Online, I had just assumed that Gauntlets weren't storable, I had no idea that's changed.

A month or two after heists released, I decided to roleplay as a prisoner by myself in the basement of the Mission Row police station. This was back when you could enter it, but now it's been patched so you can't. I had strategically parked my Kuruma in the parking garage next door.

Thirty minutes later of daydreaming about prison life and invisible guards keeping me at bay, I realized that my car icon on the radar had been moved. I'd accidentally left vehicle access to 'everyone'. This guy, level +100, had taken my car and parked it somewhere along the bridge to the north.

Looking back on this incident, I had many options.

  1. go off the radar
  2. request for my vehicle
  3. do not exit through the gate

I did none of these. Because I was a stupid level 60-70 noob who deserved what they got.

Unfortunately, I stuck my sniper rifle out through the gate only to get blown away. I was searching for them on the ground this whole time, not knowing they were positioned on top the bridge using my car as bait. Real smooth, jackass.

I never enacted revenge 'cause the coward fled into their apartment hidey-hole.

I recovered an impounded vehicle this evening, and to escape the cops I drove along the railway line and down into the tunnel towards the diagonal bridge across the river.

I got chased by a cop, not in a cop car, but in a black Bollokan Prairie. It had the copper dot on the radar, and I stopped just to see, and sure enough a cop got out and started shooting at me.

I'm assuming it was a glitch, as I'm not aware of the rozzers ever commandeering a civilian vehicle for a pursuit. Not when they can infinitely spawn new cop cars literally anywhere on the map.

I have had a cop try to chase me in a cement truck before. The LSPD are not very bright.

Day 28 of the daily objectives. I have:

Land race

Destroy 10 cars

Bribe cops and case havoc

Perfect, I will be done in 5 minutes.

Nope

I leave my apartment - bam 7k bounty on me

Ok whatever, I call for the rhino and start heading that way, a jet destroys me and my car on the way there.

I respawn, claim my car and get the cops to turn a blind eye.

I try again to get to the rhino, I'm nearly there and Pegasus call to say they couldn't move my vehicle to a suitable location. I order another, I make my way there, and another message - the same. It's been moved.

I order another, by the time I get to it, the blind eye timer has run out and now I have a cool down.

I sit there in te tank for 3 minutes, 10 seconds left and I hear a gun shot, I see a few ppl nearby and before I can aim at them the screen freezes and I'm sent to single player. hardest daily yet.

@GTA psychedelic, right on ! that's the best way to pick up Avi. at the second beach cause theres a second set of waverunners there, but you need a mic to let inexperienced ones trust you that youre doing the delivery by car after you pick up Avi.. Ive had them jump out of my car when I was driving to the second beach. they thought I was a madman cause I wasn't following the GPS like a religion. Trying to wean from the GPS in everything, to get to know the city.

Kurumas are the best for certain missions, while you watch others die. Its simply practical.

I also use it for the heist finale cause its so easy, why buy shark cards like others do. If you have a Kuruma and the right apartment its easy breezy.

I have had a cop try to chase me in a cement truck before. The LSPD are not very bright. It's not a glitch. If you are in a position where cops already have you cornered, they get out to shoot you. Should you escape, they get back in their ride and continue chase. However, sometimes the cops partners take off without them and they have no choice but to steal a civilians ride to give chase. If you do the Lester's Distraction, where you're confined to a small area while wanted, you will encounter more cops who have nicked NPC PVs.

Side note: yay, stories has returned from it's terrible sideshow placement in the "gameplay" sub section. 👍

Played with a bunch of members of Pussi Riot yesterday, drove around killing anyone and everyone. After a while when there was at least 10 of us in the lobby, we took over the airport for a while, if anyone came close we'd kill them and sure enough, people came to see why we were all there. If one of us got killed, we gang banged the killer which led to some of the lobby trying to kick us out.

It was good fun, only wish the tank and insurgent could spawn at the airport.

@Semaj;

Oh well, it's the first I've encountered it.

No problem, just thought I'd let ya know. It's rather rare for most people because most try to drive away to escape the cops, so the 'spawn/despawn cops' system takes care of any straggler cops. But like I said, try staying in a close enough area with 4 or 5 stars and when you start knocking cops and there cars around a straggler cop will comandeer the closest vehicle. Something cops are actually allowed to do IRL, interestingly enough.

I've even witnessed it in a lobby of destruction, while not wanted. I respawned after death near the road, some cop was swearing as another player zoomed past. He hit the cop car as the passenger cop was trying to get in, after he got up the cop ran to an NPC stopped for the scene, drug him out and took off. Funniest damn thing, lol. 😁

Yesterday, a cop took this dudes PV for a joyride while chasing me. I was in my T20 and the cop was in an Osiris. No name above the car, driver dressed as a cop and all. Pretty funny to see until his speed boosters activated and spun me out.

Yeah, the second beach.

Problem is I don't like using my mic with randoms, or not much at all.

I'm usually paranoid tho' about two people on the same car, to avoid the infamous infinite stars glitch. So I prefer to save Avi solo. Same for prison break's Casco setup. I usually get there fast (so the second guy doesn't screw it by shooting while I go up the stairs and I get sprayed by the now alerted enemies), climb the stairs, parachute, take Casco out, -unfortunately- other guy usually around so we're both in the car and what I do is I jump into my Kuruma and let him drive the Casco while I try and help take the red dots.

Last night out of boredom I caused some havoc and stole a LSPD patrol and then I stopped a few miles away, and then... there was a damn cop as a passenger. He was there the whole time. He got outta the car and tried to shoot me.

Heavy sniper is very random, sometimes I kill a rank 100+ dude in 1 shot, sometimes it takes me 3 shots in his body...

I was fighting this dude and traded a few kills. Sure no harm done.

Then out of nowhere he fires a cluster of grenades, like 20 of them towards me. I don't think that was legit. Can anyone confirm?

Though if he was cheating why didn't he have god mode on? Odd.

The Grenade Launcher has a pretty good fire rate when you decide to hold the trigger down and unload all 10. If you're on the receiving end of that it can seem like quite a barrage. However if they all came at once with 20 simultaneous explosions, then it's probably a mod of some sort.

*edit: some modders pick and choose what they decide to use and when, keeps people off guard.

----------------------

Been on the PS4 for nearly a year now after transfering from the 360 as a level 300ish player, and have had all sorts of crap. Getting kicked from jobs, accusations of being a cheater/modder, votekicked for just being a lobby, etc etc.

My point? Well, a week ago I picked up an Xbox One and got a copy of GTAV for that. Having already used up my only transfer last year, I had to start a fresh. What have I found as my time as a "noob"? Well, I don't get kicked from jobs anymore. I don't get called a modder. And I don't get random votekicks.

The reason I posted this? Well, about a few hours ago, I spawned into a freeroam session and someone gave me $32k. Not much, but I was floored, as this was the first time I've had anyone do something remotely nice for me in the game since...well, I was a low level noob on the 360 two years ago. I thanked the guy and was greeted with "np bro". Made my day.

Of course, a few mins later, I was chased by two rank 200s thinking I was easy prey, but they learn their lesson when they come to my location, only to be gunned down by me from a rooftop as they drove past wondering where I was. It's nice to see there are still good people in the sea of absoulute bellends, it really is.

This!!

I had this happen a couple days ago...don't recall why I had cops on me but this black suburban was on my arse ramming me and all.thought it was a hostile AI driver who's car I creamed during the chase,so I stop, get out..it's a cop.

OAN...Eclipse towers and the wind turbine on the ground at the door even during heists exiting the building is really starting to grind my gears..

Both take place on Ps3

Actually more I think of it he was a modder. I don't think level 19s have access to the grenade launcher yet.

Oddly enough I never get killed by god mode modders for some reason, though I encountered many.

What have I found as my time as a "noob"? Well, I don't get kicked from jobs anymore. I don't get called a modder. And I don't get random votekicks.

I've found a different experience.

When I started my second character a month ago (now level 48 I think) I thought, being a female character and low level, would give me more chance.

Sure I get the odd little kid harassing or asking if I'm a girl, but on heist setups I've got kicked out many times in lobbies with 100+ level characters (say, I'm the last one that joins). A quick look at my stats or the "250 points - legend" tag on my crew easily gives away I'm not just a new player, and if you quickly check my trophies you'd realise I got the heist ones long ago, enough not to be taken lightly. But I guess I'm the only one who goes through that algorithm when I'm hosting and feeling like inviting randoms.

Happened to me last night on Convoy setup for PS, I checked the host's trophies (was in the same session so I could check him out after being kicked out), and he hasn't gotten that one, so surely my experience with over 30+ PacStan completed now would have helped... but no, I guess I'm just a n00b level 48

King of the Castle - Battling it out with another player, kill him 4/5 times in a row whilst racking up the points when to my amazement he goes passive...wait what?

He runs up behind me and stands still for a few seconds (I know exactly what he's up to) and as soon as he pops out of passive mode I kill him immediately.

What a loser.

Joined a random session while Hunt the Beast was happening.

Timer was at 13:50 with all 10 checkpoints remaining. Checked the map and the Beast was in the middle of the city with like 15 other players surrounding him.

I drove straight through the crowd, gunned down the Beast, and drove off.

Quick question but how do you know when someone leaves passive mode? In the countdown, is he vulnerable? Or does the blip start to flash quickly then back to regular blip? I never had anyone gone passive-normal on me, so no idea.

When somebody goes into Passive Mode and then starts walking up to you and eerily standing still next to you... then you can expect it.

Someone lower ranked than me killed me five consecutive times and I couldn't get near him. I blame my inexperience; I never go after others. Then I had some twat in an armoured Kuruma chase me around for a while. I fared a bit better with him because they need to get in front to shoot; I just blocked him off until I managed to sticky him.

Ohhh thanks. Thought they had implemented blip flashing on the countdown or something.

Well I can say I could never do it, I'm too slow to win a gunslinger duel.

Same here. Maybe I'm a pansy. I used to enjoy going around with my crew on the PS3 days (maybe felt protected since some of them were high levels even then), nowadays it's just me solo and I get terrified to just go and start shooting just because. Maybe I should try it one of these days...

I'd have a much better time with them if we were all locked on free-aim. I've used my minigun so often I'm guessing I'm better than most at free-aim targeting.

But my failing is, I tend to freeze behind a wall and I'm not quick enough on the draw.

Have you tried free-aim lobbies?
