GTA Online > 6 Months down the road

Aside from the high levels that players are on now and crews that play together regulary.

 

Will GTA Online still be fun for someone starting a new character next year.

 

I am waiting for the heists and custom mission creators before I try online, I have done this with other games and I felt I missed the fun at times.

 

Do you expect GTA online to be fun next year for a new player ?

LOL = If I am the getaway driver with a good crew - that shouldnt be an issue or I can be the rookie and die mid mission lol

 

Im just wondering if it will be OK to someone to join later especially as SP DLC doesnt look to be coming any time soon and I would rather wait for a more flushed out experience of GTAO

It's grand theft auto, just online. It's fun just picking up random cars with the cargobob and tossing them in the ocean. You don't need anything to have fun besides your imagination. That being said, I think it woukd behoove you to start playing now, get some levels, better body armor, up your driving skill (effects car handling) and such. Unless you've got a crew of RL friends already, I doubt some other crew is gonna be like "oh hey cool, level 4 dude come be our getaway driver", ya know?

I don't see any reason WHY it wouldn't be fun 6 months down the road for new people.

I'm sure it will still be fun then, but you may have trouble finding people to play with. A lot of players will move on to the next gen systems when they are released the end of next month. Also 6 months form now it is entirely possible Rockstar will have released a next gen version of GTA 5, which will further lessen the 360 population.

 

Of course I have never had the urge to wait to play something, especially something as open and fun as GTA Online.

New content is the deciding factor. Still discovering alot in GTA online and I am at level 39. I expect heists to be great, but there is still alot left to be desired. My biggest disappointment has been the inability to buy multiple properties, which is a pretty small complaint. I was extremely irratated when it took 3 days to just play it for the first time. My greatest surprise is the online interactions with other players. There is nothing like a five way shootout in downtown Los Santos with mercenaries, bounties and attack helicopters, this game can be alot of fun. But it will get stale without good new content. R* already got there money for this game, so I am not holding my breath beyond the heists, but who knows. Six months down the road, I will likely be playing it. But I buy a new video game twice a year. My wife hates my xbox.

I'd suggest loading it up even for only a few minutes before the end of the month if you own the game so you can get the 500k free cash. At the rate Rockstar is going cash payouts in the future may be about ten cents so best to get the freebie cash while you can.

 

As for whether the game will be fun in half a year...I'd figure yes and your only issue would be if you plan to play with strangers and they are all higher level than you and screw you over. if you plan to play with friends who will also be lower level down the line then i don't see why you wouldn't have a good time.

I think the content will come- biggest evidence of this is the "kind of empty" wall of guns at ammunation and other hints like garage doors opening and areas of map that are relatively untouched.

 

I am hoping for the crew aspect to grow more ... at the moment it doesnt seem to mean all that much ...

 

I hear what u mean about established crews - I wonder how they take shape over time ....
