Trevor's Rampage Missions - User control area they start

Playing through GTA V - (Still only on 2nd Heist) Yea I'm taking my time on the first play through lol

 

I am on another of Trevor's rampage missions and was thinking, "I wish I could trigger these anywhere on the map" that would be a great way to have crazy fights at loads of spots you don't get to visit in missions.

 

Technically its really possible as the spawing for those events is nothing special and similar to gang wars in MP.

 

And why reserve online gang wars to MP - utter bullsh*t - that really makes me mad and sad that thats restricted to MP... R* maannnnn

Well to answer your second point first, Rockstar had to have some features as online exclusives to draw interest. You can't blame them completely. Hopefully one day they release all of the MP stuff to SP.

Anyway, if you think about it you can technically start a rampage anywhere you want. You just won't have the awesome extended time with Trevor's special ability. I think the five rampages are so scripted though that there's no way the engine would allow you to create your own full fledged rampage anyway.

U are right about the scripting of the rampages - but like missions - the game puts itself into a "mission" state and forces a load / unload when you start them, so technically it would be possible using in game assets, the npc and cars arriving are generic events that dont need to be area specific etc.

 

The online features should and could have been new ideas - not taking SP content and making it MP only - especially as the gang wars online could have been made much better if it was made to be MP from the ground up, like horde in Gears and not an SP mode just locked to MP without the design of the mode changing to suit the MP framework
