rubix99 Posted October 21, 2013 Share Posted October 21, 2013 I bought the special editon of GTAV on September 17th for the 360. I have the slick black Xbox Slim model with 250GB hard drive space. Installed disc 1 and only played the game off of disc 2 without instaling it as Rockstar recommended this. The game ran perfectly fine for me, although it did crash on a loading screen several times.....but not a recurring thing. Last Friday I saw the game was available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace, and showed up as 7.6GB which seemed way too small for the overall game. But still wen t ahead and bought the game from the Marketplace. 30 hours later the download completed and the game would fire up perfectly. I soon found out that because I had the first disc of the physical copy already instaled.....I did not need to download an additional 7-8GB file....which apparently happens automatically to downloaders who do not have that disc installed. As far as I can tell.....I cant see any problem with the digital download version at all. In fact it seems to load faster and there is less of a pause when you hit the start button to look at the map. I'm playing on a 1080p HD TV and cant find any fault in the digital download....or at least none that I would find on the physical copy. Now I can sell off my physical copy for Microsoft Currency and get the Saints Row 4 download! Does anyone know if the Playstation 3 digital download was 1 single file? I seem to recall a previous issue with Fallout 3 GOTY edition going very bad for that system. Fallout 3 had 5 DLCs released for it. But the PS3 GOTY edition apparently was released with all 5 DLC already built into the game......and the game was riddled with technical problems and bugs etc. And did not run nearly aswell than if you had bought the standard PS3 game and downloaded the 5 DLCs from PSN. Could this GTAV digital download be experiencing similar thing when its all put into 1 single file? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And also I'm surprised your review is so positive about the digital download. I've seen some complaints that the pop-in issue Rockstar warned people not to install the play disc to HDD for is present on the digital download as well. Question, if you own the game and have it partially installed on your HDD, it still costs full price at the Xbox Marketplace? That sucks.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
