its annoying how i have to mute everyone manually, especially during a deathmatch so im asking if theres anyway to mute fast? its getting annoying

If you're on Xbox just start a party chat. Not sure about PS3 though.

Only in free mode as far as I know. If someone is blaring staticy music during a race or DM I either have to turn down the TV volume until I can't hear the game, pull out my hair or mute them manually.

Open your back/select menu and go to chat. You can change it exactly like you can vehicle access.

So just bump it to no one or friends or whatever, and bam, everyone muted.

Hold select or back and put chat to Friends and/or Crew. Then you will only be able to hear random peoples mics if they are close to you.
