Oh right, on topic... I do the occasional "fun" mission, but they get boring fast with next to nothing to show for it.

 

Now that no-one is doing missions anymore, all the morons are racing, pit maneuvering everyone that gets a couple of metres too close.

The mission payouts were all over the place, but the halfing payouts across the board was'nt the way to do it.

 

Some of Madrazo's simple kill the laywer, editor missions are now about right at 4500/5000 instead of 9, but killing 20 Merryweather folk stealing 2 choppers, shooting down a further 3 and then dropping them off for 7k is rotten.

 

Last night winning a race in a full lobby was giving back 13k for 4mins work.

Yeah it is a waste. I even did a little experiment. I don`t remember the name of the missions, but basicly I kept the track of my ammo and then did a bit of math and it turns out I wasted almost 2000$ on ammo while the mission gave me 2500$. A bit more than 500$ profit. And that was a 10-15 minute job. GG R*

$2000 on ammo? This was free aim, right? Please say yes, because that's a lot of ammo.

 

They need to balance things because I would love to use grenades and sticky bombs, but at $250 and $540 each, it's sometimes not worth it.

 

Of course, I really do think they'll iron all this stuff out. Red Dead was really uneven at first and they pretty much fixed all of that. Plus, this is an entirely new thing -- balancing it out to allow people to earn money, but still providing a good reason to buy cash cards every once in a while. Which, personally, I won't even consider if they don't take away the billion dollar glitcher accounts.

 

 

$250 and $450 is a good price for explosives. They're too easy to kill people with them.

 

Anyways after the patch halving mission payouts, I feel there's no incentive to replaying the same missions 100s of times. I haven't really played much for 2-3 days now.

 

Sometimes, yes. But since Rockstar has programmed it in such a way that by the time you see the reticule to show you where the explosive will go, you're already in the midst of throwing it, it's easy to miss the mark the first time. So you end up using two. And honestly, the missions aren't usually too difficult, so I can get more use out of firing 20 rounds of my combat shotgun. The explosives should be fun, but they're a waste of time and money much of the time.

 

I don't care about missions or payouts or RP. I think all of that stuff is pretty silly once you hit level 50 or so. Every time I play, whether it's going after a guy who's taken the car Simeon wants or hunting down a guy in a Buzzard, I have a sh*tload of fun.

Yeah I get what you're saying, I tried a new lester mission with the FN Cop vehicles, and When i looked for a walkthrough online, I learned it was only $2000, WTF this is the same payout as the easy gerald missions man

 

No need for the frustration for $2000 that will be spent on ammo to do more missions anyways

Havent played a decent mission in a long time , i just jump between boneyard and the prison race i earn a cool 100k in about an hour and a half

 

3 games of boneyard 15/20mins each all 10 waves, then the rest spent racing around the prison track grinding xp and cash until i get bored then head back to my apartment

None of my crew really do missions anymore. I know races are the main profit. I think people should glitch to being rich, I have lost 14 million and not glitched yet.... but it seems lame R* can take from me due to a glitch and then nerf all missions.... yet it is wrong for players to glitch. I am starting to say F*** R*, do whatever you want to have fun.

I called it when they reduced the rewards last week. The minute they reduced the reward and the satisfaction for breaking ya back doing a long ass mission everyone will flock to the races where the payout, even if you don't come first, is so much better and quickly earned. Which people have now began to realise. It's only a matter of time until R* give us all the middle finger again and drastically reduce the payout and the RP gained from races to encourage us to buy GTA$.

 

I only wish I had done the races sooner, heck I only wish I'd done the glitches sooner because I could have been better off than I am now. And lets be honest R* are not doing one damned thing about the glitchers so the only thing stopping me is the fact I want to play honestly. Which of course is playing into R*'s grubby EA-like hands.

The problem I'm having is that I still want to do missions but I'm struggling to find co-op players. If they've already done the mission they're reluctant to join thanks to the reduced payout. Now it looks like I'll have to find a crew to play with otherwise I might as well just play single player.

I agree, my friends and I used to do missions all the time. Some are really fun to nail down perfectly. Now we don't bother anymore and started racing. Hell I should've bought Forza. Last night I actually got bored in Free Roam. Never happened in Red Dead.... All because of the f****d up economy in this game.

Such a shame, missions were almost all I did online. Now I'm playing this less and less each day since other games do racing, deathmatches, and multiplayer so much better. R* is really dropping the ball here, and people are getting fed up with their crap. It's amazing how fast they are ruining their own game.

Shame, I agree also I loved doing the missions with friends for awhile, till they took the restart option but I still did them searching in my phone. Now half? sh*t since I probably done 10 or so missions and that's to help a friend who lost their player in the mist of the clouds.

I agree, this latest change done by patch 1.04 really makes no sense (other than a poor attempt at trying to make people buy cash cards).

 

1. The pay out spread no longer makes any sense. I did a mission where the other guy died in the first 5 seconds, and I completed the rest of the mission myself. He got paid $9k and I got paid $4.5k. WTF! I read somewhere here that apparently the system is supposed to be that people who do the mission for the first time get the full pay out, and any subsequent time you do it, you get half the pay out.

 

Well I just found out that that isn't it either, because I did the Titan job with my friend who just bought the game today and another guy. It was my friend's first time doing the Titan job. My friend got paid half and the other guy (who was level 68, so I doubt this was his first time) got paid full.

 

2. I now ignore all Simeon missions. Chase down a car, lose the cops, and return the car to him for $750? I can just steal any random car off the road and sell it for more than that.

 

3. This also means that for the missions I do want to do, but which do not have a high pay out, it is virtually impossible to find someone else to do it with me unless they are relatively new to the game. All the old heads know the mission will be a waste of their time, and they'd rather hang out in free roam and wait for a worthwhile mission.

 

4. It's ironic, because R* boasts about having 500 missions, yet gives no incentives for people to do them. Just...weird.

Free aim should pay more also, just did a gang attack with 30 on free aim and only got 500 RP..I mean what the f*ck, 1 lap of the prison gives me more.

I totally agree with this. I've been playing the story mode on free aim, but no way in hell do I want to play online in free aim, because those mission f*ckers can shoot me from half a mile away and I can't even see them. The missions take longer because of this, so I should be rewarded with a higher RP and more money.

 

 

 

This! And the more people you have alive should increase the payout.. basically objectives where people don't F it all up should pay out more and the game should recognize this.

As soon as Rockstar gave that bullsh1t reason for cutting the missions, I responded on that same post telling them they were spouting lies. It costs more for ammo for most missions now than the payout...who in their right mind would spend 2k in ammo on a mission that pays 1k or 1.5? Everyone's car payouts are going to go up because you get more for selling a car every hour than doing any of Gerald, Simeon and all but one of Lamar's....they went and fukked up the game terribly. Now you have to be a high level and simply wait until a offer comes in that's even worth the time....The REAL sad part is that some of the missions are actually fun, but the time and payout aren't worth it.
