I DON'T BOTHER WITH MISSIONS ANYMORE

In the wake of the latest 'patches' which halved missions payouts and prevented replays I've found them to be a complete time & ammo sink and not worth dealing with.

 

The missions from Gerald, Lamar & Simeon give so little money and RP I ignore anything associated with them. Given these people make up nearly half of the contacts shows how unbalanced missions are.

 

The missions that are worth doing from the rest never come up by themselves and they never come up when I request a job.

 

Example I'm lvl 40 ATM and If I call Ron he only ever gives me a 3K job about stealing a tanker I unlocked at lvl 10 instead of a well paying job I unlocked at lvl 35 etc. The only way I have played Base Invaders and Titan of a Job is from friend invites.

 

Even with these better jobs why should I spend 15min doing multiple objectives when a 2min race with 6 people will net me +2000RP and $11000?

 

Do you guys think something needs to be done about missions? Because at the moment the opportunity cost of doing them is MASSIVE...

i understand your frustration, and i couldn't agree more with you. I actually moved onto glitching a quick $100k just to satisfy my rate of progression, as a way of Rockstar owing me, or a simple "f*ck you,"

 

missions are ridiculously worthless until you get lucky enough to get you Base Invaders ($12.5k) if you can do it correctly, by yourself

They're worth it for the first time, and then never again. You'd make money faster even if you were simply coming in last place in a race over and over.

While I agree the payout deduction is ridiculous I still do missions for the fun factor. Imo it shouldn't only be about how much money you can stack up but also how much fun is involved ultimately.

On another note decreasing payment for bigger jobs was a greedy and silly mistake on Rockstar's behalf, because the harder missions are a huge turn off since the reduced payouts.

grinded 3 millions and got lvl 90 with martin missions completely legit, then 1.0.4 came and I just didnt see the point of doing the missions. Races were better but now players would grind RP instead of actual racing so no race ATM.

Now I ve heard about the glitch, made my millions and will now ACTUALLY enjoy what ever is next since time/grind or race position won't be so crucial to my progression.

I mean, seriously, who's idea was it to discourage players from doing missions. They act like the mission arsenal is in the thousands. They should have made it like dailies. Max amount PER DAY.

when you enter any vehicle, you can be killed while passive mode is active. Passive mode only works when your walking around with no weapons out at all. Make sure you don't get run over though.

I fully agree 80% of the missions are a total waste of time for my level 77 character. Sadly it's that 80% i keep getting offered.

As someone who does missions more than TDM, Races etc, I'm disappointed.

 

I can understand Rockstar decreasing mission payouts such as Rooftop Rumble, Violent Duct, Parking Garage etc because they are quite easy to do however they did not consider leaving payments as they were for missions that do actually take time and planning in order to pass them. i.e. Los Santos Connection, American Exports, Extradition etc.

 

I don't think there was much thought from Rockstar's part in what missions should receive a decrease in payout and missions that didn't.

I don't bother either OP.. tried doing a simple mission for Simeon earlier, can't remember the name, but it's the one where you have to get the blue oracle and yellow coquette that are driving around.

Got two stars for shooting the coquette driver, went to get in and the cops killed me before I could even grab his body out of the car ON FULL HEALTH. I didn't try it again to find out how much it paid. Probably only enough for one haircut.

Your retard character takes way too long to get into cars and start them up when you have a wanted level. I've gotten killed in seconds before when just trying to switch vehicles with one cop chasing me.

I'll just go back to selling cars legit and/or not legit. Mission Fail because of sharpshooter cops? Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

This is the worst thing, if I'm a high rank I should get high ranking missions, not the one's from level 3 which don't even pay out enough to cover the mission entry fee, armour and ammo

In the time it would take me, after ammo and armor costs, to make $35k with those missions on repeat, I can make in other faster, easier, more legit ways.

 

I feel the OP's frustration; the worst part is most of these missions aren't even FUN. I look at my account and go "I need to do missions and make money" and then I go through my contacts list and realize I won't make anything worthwhile for the investment.

Yeah it is a waste. I even did a little experiment. I don`t remember the name of the missions, but basicly I kept the track of my ammo and then did a bit of math and it turns out I wasted almost 2000$ on ammo while the mission gave me 2500$. A bit more than 500$ profit. And that was a 10-15 minute job. GG R*
