  1. 1. Do you care for the catch-up option?

    • Yes, it keeps races interesting and tense until the very end!

    • No, I enjoy having leads wide enough to park moons in.

    • Meh. I honestly don't care either way.

^Title.

I'm in the "Meh" catagory honestly, as I'll play regardless. But, I actually get bored sometimes if I have a huuuuge lead and catch-up isn't on. I'll actually stop and wait for people to make it fun again.

If you're a noob, then sure. If you're a real man and can handle losing fair and square, then no.

Catch up is for people who have no racing skill (in game), and need it on to have even a small, tiny chance at winning.

If you have a clean race, as in, no wrecks or spin outs and the ass pirate who wrecked out like 4-5 times wins.....there is something wrong.

I always have it off. Catch up is for little girls or girly men.

Shouldn't be in default-on, makes it boring and feels awful going go kart speed while in first place watching those blue blips fly towards you awaiting your fate.

Don't be a jabroni kids, say no to catch up.

I don't think there is anything wrong with catch up. It keeps everyone in the race.

This game is prone to spin outs, collision, and other disastrous situations because of the way the game is made. This is not Gran Turismo, accidents happen, even if they are not intentional, due to the arcade-y physics system.

I guess I just think that being way ahead and being far behind is equally not fun. Might as well race by myself. If we loose catch up, then can rockstar make respawning back on the road instantaneous. It takes like 5 second to respawn at a checkpoint, you might as well just give up.

Side note. I honestly don't get why people think that they don't need to brake before a sharp turn. I mean how would you hit a turn that is at a right angle at full speed. turns like this

I said no, but nit for asinine reasons. With catchup on, the race in an accurate representation of player skill. If you suck, you shouldn't get babied into winning. If you get wrecked out, try a counter tactic next time. If you miss the corner, try BRAKING next time. I w=did a super car race in the mountains a while ago, and everyone ahead of me just plummeted off of the mountain because they didn't SLOW DOWN. Try it sometime.

Best driver should win, that doesn't always happen when catchup is on. My rule is no traffic, no catchup. If there is traffic I turn catchup on.

Catch up is the worst thing you can have in races. The fastest, cleanest racer is sandbagged so all the tards who can't drive straight and play demolition derby can roar past you on the final corner

countless times i have been in the lead by minutes, and caught up to at the last seconds of the race. what is the point? you fix up your car to be caught up to? come on... keep it on that crappy gta race crap, and out of normal races. get better at racing and you would not need catch up to win. losers.

I don't see anything wrong with it as an 'option'

It would be good if R* could implement some preference settings so that when you use the quick job menu to join a race it would take note of your preferences for what kind of race you were looking for.

I have also been in the other position. Racing clean, am avoiding contact then some knob decides to do a pit manouvre & I get rammed, or flung off a bridge etc... or bumped so I miss the check-point. In this situations I like to have a little help to catch & pass the fecker!

rubbing is racing son... being pit maneuvered can be avoided.

Ah good old catch up.

Nothing like a few well taken corners to give yourself a 6-7 second lead. Only for the car to lose a few gears so the idiots who spent the last corner parked in a hedge can get a second chance at ramming you off the road.

Yes for catchup if someone rams you.

No if it is a fair race.

This means I am in the meh category too...

lol.. if someone rams you, its because you let them catch up to you and get in a position to ram you. you can be nudged and get in front of them in ways (like with real racing too... waaaaa?) they cannot get around you, and ramming you does no good.

a fair race.. in gta... enough said.

catch up is a must in every race. fairness > your ego

I think you don't know what fairness actually means.

How is getting into the lead through skill and then being artificially slowed down so that other people can catch up fair?

I guess if you get 3 kills up on your opponent in a deathmatch game you would like to be suicided then?

Hell Nay.. It sucks. I wish there was an option to turn slipstream off too. You should win standard races because you are good.. I dont mind Catchup or slipstream in GTA races, variety is good... but it should not be in standard races. Its actually a disadvantage to be in the lead with Catchup and slipstream.
