how do you feel about players who ram or pit you in races?

It's probably like the spawn killers when it was a 2000 medical fee... They have no intention of gaining anything, they just want to piss people off..

Would be good if we could track them down in real life and do the same to them while they're driving.

Yeah. That's the same. lol

douche did this yesterday on bikes. kept trying to side-swipe the whole starting line every time. I always play the extreme outside lane for the first leg of a race and usually avoid those asshats.

love motorcycle racing though. especially slipstreaming right in the middle of two people jockeying for position; slide right between them and watch as they try to bump you and take each other out.

So good when they ruin their own races while sitting in your tail dust! I often find that motorcycle collisions either do nothing at all for either person, or the rammer takes the fall, don't know why anyone bothers in a vehicle with no weight

Everyone makes mistakes at times, but yes I also frequently encounter utter cocks who definitely do it deliberately.

The most annoying times is when you have been battling very cleanly wheel to wheel with a guy for one of the top positions for a couple of laps & then the worthless cock performs a perfect pit manouvre.

I don't rage about it or anything though. That is what you get for racing randoms in a game about crime.

I have joined a clean racing crew though, so hopefully I'll get some decent racing in once the servers are stable. I'm not bothering to log in at them moment until a new patch fixes the cloud issues.

Yeah, it can be annoying. Sometimes it can lead to funny moments though. One time I was racing in SUV's and one guy was going to try to ram me off the road down a steep incline. I swerved slammed my brakes on and they flew right off the edge.

i ended up crashing a couple times trying to dodge people that got pitted by idiot racers. i'm the type of person that tries not to hit people and if i do i say "oops sorry dude" even though they can't hear me because i don't have a mic haha.

I don't mind bumping, but to deliberately take you out of the race as many do, it gets to me.

I counter that by giving them bad rep and avoiding them in future. lol

One PIT-ter got their comeuppance in a race with me last night, he was 1st, I was 2nd and he kept blocking me, not letting me overtake as I did so he tried to PIT me which caused me to spin off but as I did so I reversed into him taking him out too. He wound up coming last and I managed to get back up to 5th.

But you see it many times, they would rather take you out altogether instead of them finishing 2nd. If I see someone coming up my arse faster than me, I move over to let them pass. I don't try and block them or take them out of the race. Then of course you get the ones who do overtake you and as a thank you they shunt the front quarter of your car causing you to spin out.

You give a bad rep for using a function that ROCKSTAR put into the game? How does that make sense? Personally, I think it's pretty childish. "Hey, you didn't race like I want you to, so now I'm going to tattle on you."

It's a game. You get taken out, then there's another race a few minutes later. Or you could learn how to counter them, which makes you a more formidable opponent. End of story. No need to be a hall monitor, Bobby Brady. ;-)

As an awesome guy once said ... "By tattling on your friends, you're really just tattling on yourself. By tattling on your friends, you're just telling them that you're a tattletale. Now is that the tale you want to tell?"

:-)

So you're now defending people who try to win by being an ass? It's just like the kid who threw the controlled out of your hand once he was on the losing side. That's how annoying ramming is. And I think someone who is plagued by noobs with inferiority issues has every right to report his ass to avoid him in the future. By the way, your last quote is out of context. Reporting assholes is what is right, seeing both people are behind a monitor and the ramming assholes are most likely closed for mature discussion.

I just don't see how using a known technique from the real world is being an ass. Pitting has been around forever. The only reason NASCAR drivers don't use it more often is because there are real people in those cars. Besides, there are so many worse things you can do. In Criminal Records, for instance, you could line your car up at the last turn ... it's so narrow, the person in first would hit you every time. Now THAT is being as ass. But seriously ... where do you draw the line? I can't pit someone, but they can slipstream past me at the very end of a race and win and that's okay ... but of course, if I see them doing it and then ram them in an attempt to stop them, *I* am being the ass for ramming? Don't you see how illogical that is? Then you have to come up with a list of rules for every single circumstance. It's just weird.

Reporting a person for a technique that Rockstar programmed into the game seems silly and childish to me. But even more than that, it's simply a waste of time. In GTA IV, I had people mod to win, use rapid fire, and send me messages from death threats to talking about raping my mom to sending me multiple messages that said c*nt c*nt c*nt. At first, I reported all this stuff to both Sony and Rockstar ... do you know how many were reprimanded for it? Exactly none.

I think people tend to forget that this is just a video game. They get so riled up when they "lose." But what have they really lost? Their dignity? Guess what ... no one really cares. It's fun to win, sure, but this generation of video game players who make up these arbitrary rules in a game that is designed with the capability to play with just your friends is just strange.

Meanwhile, glitchers who have made a BILLION DOLLARS are going unpunished. lol

That doesn'y make any sense whatsoever blackrooster. I don't know one racer nor do I think any racer would claim that pitting is a racing technique. That is ridiculous! And rockstar never programmed a pitting technique in the game. Please let me know where you saw that in the tutorial because I sure didn't see that.

'They never programmed a pitting technique in the game?' Have you never tried to escape from the police in a car or tried to spin someone out? It doesn't have to be programmed into the game, it's an inherent part of the car physics. I understand why people get aggravated by it, but it's GTA- it's a violent game. I don't want to play the whole "If you want a realistic racing simulator play Gran Turismo/Forza" argument, but the game is designed to be inherently arcadey. If you have a lot of problems with people ramming you, bike and aerial vehicle races rarely have any ramming in them outside the beginning. I do believe that if someone is playing the game to just attack other players then that is wrong, but there's nothing wrong, in my eyes, with smashing into someone's wheel wells and spinning them out over a cliff. If I did have a problem with it then I would play a racing simulator.

And yes you are being an a** for ramming them as they are passing you right before the finish because they were following your slipstream. That my friend is being a sore loser. You win some and you lose some. If someone is coming up behind me and I know I'm gonna be passed ill ask the person inside or outside? 9 times out of 10 they'll say outside so if I don't hear anything I'll move to the right. You can't say racers use pitting and ramming as a technique. That's a major no no.

tonight i was in a couple races on route 68 and the first on i drove a stock adder and finished 3rd even though some players tried to pit me, on the second race i accidently hit one of my fellow racers and sent his super rolling a couple of ties but that i got rammed i was driving a stock Monroe which sent flying of route 68 onto a dirt road and some reason i totally forgot about restore and tried to get back on the main road.

Being a racing sim fan I want to rip their balls off and use them as my good look charm dangling on cars mirror next to the air freshener.

Racing simulator or not its just not right and disrespectful. (Yes I understand that it is GTA) but we are in the racing section and there is no such thing as pitting and ramming in racing. It is a tactic for police pursuits, not racing.

I like fair and clean races and so when somebody tries to ram me I'm simply going the other way round just to take the f****r head on and make him "DNF". I don't care about me not finishing the race. I'd rather give those dirty noobs a lesson.

The constant spin outs are wrecking the races for me. But it's not as bad on tracks that have lots of bends where you can actually beat people with good driving.

Right now, hanging back in third and waiting for the the guy in 2nd to INEVITABLY try to wipe out the leader at the last corner seems to be the only thing that's worked for me.

I do atleast try to not hit people. I wish for them to say and race me than drive everyone off in the first race.
