how do you feel about players who ram or pit you in races?

I end up changing the way I drive each race. It's just impossible to tell if the person driving next to you is going to ram you off the road or drive by clean. So you either have to hope that they're not going to do anything and keep driving normaly, or get there first and ram them. Something I will try to play races clean, but more often than not I'm forced to spin people out.

 

I can understand people being angry when they spin out so bad that there is not getting to the finish line, but I have to draw a line a swearing down the mic and abusing other player. I was playing with a guy in one of my first races who consantly reffered to everyone as 'Dirty cheating c*nts' before the race had even started! Saying things such as 'no one here better touch my car or I swear I'm going to ..'' bla bla bla. During the race I accidentally tapped the back of his car while in slip stream and I have never heard someone swear so much.

 

Anyway eventually everyone just found it funny to run him off the road and he left.

When a guy does that, he's just BEGGING to be f*cked with. I wouldn't even care about the race. I'd just screw with him the whole way through. I'm a nice guy and I love just playing the game, but come on now ... at least try to be a wee bit mature.

But i'll tell you what those first few races I got knocked out by the biggest assholes alive and ever since then I have come to the conclusion that you have zero chance of winning a race unless you play dirty. So I'm a huge asshole in races now.

I had no idea this was even a concern until a few days ago. Being able to pit someone is a skill and if you can't take it, then just race by yourself or with friends. I think it's silly to whine about it. Sometimes, you can hit someone on the side and make them crash into a pole just as easily. So is that not allowed either? Or should everyone just stay at least five feet from each other's car? Seriously, why all these restrictions?

 

A few days ago, I was racing against a guy who purposely got behind me and stayed behind me until just before the finish line. Then he hit me and made me spin out, and I crashed into a pillar. You know what I did? I sent him a message and said "Niiiiiice."

 

Why? Because it's a freakin' video game. Even if you don't win, you still get some money and RP, so who cares? Is your life so devoid of merit as to warrant getting upset by being bested by another player simply because he or she didn't follow your arbitrary rules? This is stupid crybaby crap. If you have a problem with it, you're not as good of a racer as you think.

 

This is also why I like to have Catchup set to on. If I get way ahead in a race and catchup is off, you know what happens? Pure boredom. I don't want that. I want to feel the guy's breath on the back of my neck as his car speeds to catch up to me. It's called a CHALLENGE and for some reason, a lot of drivers (and players, for that matter) don't want a challenge. They want the win to be easy. In fact, I've realized that some of the best players are the ones who turn it off so that they can win more easily. Which is weird to me.

 

Does catchup give a "noob" more of chance? Maybe. But if you're really THAT skilled, catchup won't help that noob enough to make much of a difference. And if he gets lucky once or twice and is able to pass you toward the end ... so what? Let the noob have a little victory and then just beat him in the next race. What's the harm in letting a new player feel good about himself every once in a while?

u dont mind pitting thats fine, i like a challenge myself aswel in any game...

any race i host has rain, night and trafic turned on...as for races it comes down to..who can use the slipstream mechanic the best? who can make the fastest corners..who got the reflexes required to avoid traffic..who controls their car the best.now thats skill....ramming ur vehicle into some1 else's takes little to no skill in my opinion..I like competition, just dont like dirty competition

True. However, it's not "dirty," per se. It's been a part of NASCAR for nearly a century. Except here, you don't have to worry about a real person in the car, so why not have a little fun.

If you have the lead, and the car behind is creeping up on you, hes probably going to ram the backend of your vehicle to make you spin.

As you see him start gaining on you and getting into that dangerous position, slam the breaks and ram him, most often he will spin out and you can continue on your merry way

I can't cry about it because it's racing whether it's fair or not. There's really no rules. I do get frustrated from time to time especially when I'm in the lead and someone pit me.

 

But, I must say, it is refreshing when you find a bunch that doesn't pit and just races straight up. Love those races

I do my best to race clean, but will admit that on the last corner when in 2nd place I may consider not breaking or turning and ramming someone right through the corner in an attempt to win.

I don't mind bumping, nudging or scraping paintwork, but to deliberately take you out of the race as many do, it gets to me.

 

I counter that by giving them bad rep and avoiding them in future. lol

 

One PIT-ter got their comeuppance in a race with me last night, he was 1st, I was 2nd and he kept blocking me, not letting me overtake as I did so he tried to PIT me which caused me to spin off but as I did so I reversed into him taking him out too. He wound up coming last and I managed to get back up to 5th.

 

But you see it many times, they would rather take you out altogether instead of them finishing 2nd. If I see someone coming up my arse faster than me, I move over to let them pass. I don't try and block them or take them out of the race. Then of course you get the ones who do overtake you and as a thank you they shunt the front quarter of your car causing you to spin out.

It's annoying as f*ck. I played the 'Down the drain' race with supercars. The first race I was leading, and then some c*nt PIT'd me from behind. I become 2nd. At the first replay, I got rammed again but managed to get 1st. The next two replays I got annoyed as f*ck. I was far leading the race, then some c*nt came from the other side of the sewers and rammed into me to let his fa**ot boyfriend win. Yeah, if you can't win by skills, don't try to win by being a total dickwad.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Anyone can RAM a vehicle ... but not everyone can do it to effectively spin someone out. And you know what takes REAL skill? Being nudged by someone like that and successfully countering. But instead of learning how to counter it, people would rather complain because they're not getting an easy win.

 

I dealt with the same stuff when I was playing Mafiya Work using the heli. Anyone in that game can grab a heli for a couple of quick, easy missions. But very few can control it to the point of killing multiple opponents, achieving tasks, and taking down other helis. Heck, I once took on four level 10 players and they finally kicked me after I took all of them down. Some people just don't want to learn how to adapt.

I see this a lot too, where people team up to prevent you from winning. Was in a race with 3 other cars, 2 of them were the same yellow coloured car and the fact they both had the same sh*t in their gamertag, I guessed they were pals. I flew past the pair of them on a lap and as I did so the leading yellow car pulled out and hit my side and nailed me to the wall, pinning me and his mate took off in the lead. By the time I respawned the race was all but finished.

You give a bad rep for using a function that ROCKSTAR put into the game? How does that make sense? Personally, I think it's pretty childish. "Hey, you didn't race like I want you to, so now I'm going to tattle on you."

 

It's a game. You get taken out, then there's another race a few minutes later. Or you could learn how to counter them, which makes you a more formidable opponent. End of story. No need to be a hall monitor, Bobby Brady. ;-)

If you're using the word "fa**ot" and are over the age of 13, then you deserve to lose. It's not their fault you suck at racing and can't deal with someone who can pit you. I've dealt with them and actually congratulate them when they pull an awesome move. It's a game. lol
