  1. 1. Do you think these changes would work?

Just bear with me...this is gonna be a long one and most is just more of my rants...

Things that could be changed for the better: excluding glitches and the lost characters (or other problems currently being worked on.)

-Rewards, Payment, and Pricing

-Personal Car system

-Armor system

-REWARDS,PAYMENT, AND PRICING-

So imagine; R* revamps the whole monetary system to be more inline with real life prices. (no more 12000 dollar silencers or other attachments) make them so that the silencers are something like 800 dollars, pistols are at most 500 dollars...in fact all weapons dropped down to "real" life prices or at least closer to their SP counterparts. (wouldn't need huge overpriced...prices if R* made payouts similar to SP payouts from like GTA 3 or something.)

For this to work the entire rewards system for missions and multiplayer tasks will have to be revamped. (I know I know they cant even get the current system working so this is more or less a pipe dream.)

payouts should be broken into level categories

levels 1 -10 get Simeon and Gerald missions that pay crap (something like 200-300 dollars) and lowish rep

levels 11-20 unlock rank 2 Simeon and Gerald missions with some random missions from Lamar and maybe Lester (lester is kinda pointless really) These missions still pay crap but have a higher increase in rep. (something like a 500 - 800 dollar payout and 1500 rep.)

levels 21 - 30 This is when the player starts to get bigger missions Simeon still pays crap but that is his character so not much more can be earned from him at this time, But Gerald seeing how he can trust you begins allowing you to take on bigger missions. Some more contacts unlock and these missions break into the thousands range. (the player is still unable to earn much money since they are still the grunt of grunts.)

(In fact my money "idea" is not so different than what we have now but just with smaller payouts)

As the player keeps raising in rank the rep and money begin to roll in. I think this is what R* wanted to do from the start, since all RPGs and other level based games in the history of gaming have done this. I am by no means breaking the mold here but come on R* really?

Low levels in High level missions!

This could be fixed by making it so that Each mission pays based on rank. with a max payout so that level 100 sally cant run the first easy mission for thousands of dollars...though that wouldnt be too different from what we have now. To even out the less payment from low level reward would be the fact that Rep is not limited. So gaining levels would come quicker and in time the low level player would see a raise in payments and eventually reach their fellow mission mates. or whatever people call their friends now a days.

Races, DM, and other multiplayer stuff...

Not sure how to change this. On one hand I like the rep and payout, but on the other hand my rational side says that to match these proposed changes that racing and DM rewards need to be revamped. Again not sure how though.

-PERSONAL CARS-

For the most part I think that car prices are fair...but I think that people should have to buy their cars or pay closer to the amount of the retail value of the car for the tracker. I know this is GTA and stealing cars is the most basic thing that players do within the game. But This is all part of my idea to stabilize and nourish the "economy" that R* is trying to make.

How the car system should work (in my opinion)

- stolen cars can no longer become personal vehicles, players get one starting car at the beginning and that car is their home until they have enough money for a higher priced vehicle of their choosing. (money gain idea later.)

-every car can be purchased online or from Simeon. (Rat loader, Hearse, towtruck and so on)

-make cars commodities that can be traded between players and traded in when buying a new vehicle. (this would make racing for Pinks possible)

(as stated in another thread...Fix emblem placement!)

-ARMOR SYSTEM-

Yup...I don't think I need to look very far to find people that think the armor in this game is less protective than a soggy paper towel. Yes the cover system is there and if you are good enough you wont need to worry. But in those situations that your team gets flanked by pistol sniping NPCs the armor we have now really does not cover it. it needs way more stopping power than it has now. I just watched a clip of a guy testing out some sort of vest that took a full clip of a 9 mil and some other small arms fire. I saw another clip where this guy took 3 ak rounds to the chest (point blank) and just shrugged them off...I admit I am not an expert so i do not know how legit these videos were.

-OTHER IDEAS-

THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE DISPOSABLE ITEMS THAT PLAYERS WILL PAY FOR!

What I mean by this is that players should be able to make (oh god here I go a crafting system!) something that other players will want. This creates a cycle of cashflow that forces players to keep spending money within the community rather than hoarding it. (somewhat...there will always be tightwads.)

My breaking bad fanboy is going to start showing but make it so players can cook meth and sell it to other players, for say a rep boost or a damage boost, something that benefits the player for their purchase/ theft of the product.

Make players drop weapons on death or something so Arms dealing would become lucrative. maybe have the option for players to tinker with weapons making them stronger or more accurate to be sold to other players or used against other players. IDEA: trunk storage, if the player has multiple of one type of weapon then allow the player to sell them to another player for keeps if they meed the level requirements. I mentioned trunk storage because the player could hold all the extra weapons in the trunk or something. (these could be lost when the ride is impounded.) If other players steal the car they can steal the guns too.

Programming wise I don't think that this would be that hard to do (hell with my half a year experience of programming I whipped up a C# script that did this but was no where near as pretty as what someone with years of experience could do. Though of course I have no idea what RAGE runs off of or how my script would effect existing bugs.)

REMOVE PLAYER BLIPS - I said this in another thread but this idea I stand behind 110%.

Put emblems on more clothing and the useless vests.

more ties

fix the black suit pants...why are they purple yet you got the jacket right?

more hair

and other nit picking things.

NEW IDEAS!!

Expanding on my arms trading scenario and players losing weapons, Make it so Ammunation sells primarily ammo, body armor, and maybe the base gun. The players will then have to find weapons in the arms crates or hoard them from fallen NPCs, they can use them, stash them, or sell them to other players. But what about attachments? well either ammunation will be able to sell them to ya or they become separate items within the arms crates that can be used in the manner listed for other weapons.

Make is to that Higher leveled players can store more weapons or something (kind of like weapon ammo and the shooting skill) or make it so Higher level characters spawn higher level crates.

DRUGS

Another scenario that I was thinking about was the drugs aspect. as it stands players can only use weed for a 10 second high? make it so players feel the effects for longer, and have a limited ammount of weed at their apartment. (Just a note: I am not an individual who partakes in marijuana so i am unsure of the whole intricacies of procuring the substance.) The player will then have to either farm their own sh*t, or buy it from someone. Make it so players can light one in public if they choose, but people may call the cops on them.

METH

Since there are only 3 drugs in game (unless i missed something) there should be a way to make them (except coke...not sure the process of coke). More breaking bad fanboyism showing but make it so that the players can get an RV take it to LSC and pay an option to "prepare cooking station" there can also be levels and different pricing per level that unlock with rank. (level 1 20% pure/ level 2 40% pure/ level 3 60% pure/ level 4 80% pure) And while the player is cooking there could be random events of police showing up or Ballas if the player keeps going to the same location to do their business or if they make a certain amount of product. Now this is starting to lead into the area of more properties to purchase, but say a player chooses to buy a warehouse that then can be converted to a lab (for a price) This lab would then be the only way to make the best quality of Meth.

Now with Trevor being in the Meth game and not taking to kindly to competition, the player can take some of their product to Trevor for some RP and to keep him off your back. (other wise he will keep calling and maybe send someone after you...maybe tip off the lost and say something like "it is only business sugar tits" and the player will have to fight them off (kind of like a gang attack.)

Could do the same to Gerald. Maybe make it so that Gerald accepts all grades of meth while Trevor only takes high quality? Losing steam on this idea...

_MORE IDEAS TO BE ADDED_

This will also help R* sell more cash cards to those that really do not want to work for this stuff. On one had you have the players that level through going from 1 all the way to level 100 earning their money legit. and in doing so they allow themselves to gain access to the high level missions that payout more...while on the other hand you have the low level characters that bought their money but will have to either keep buying more money to subsidize the lack of payment due to low levels or force them to play the game and level up as well.

Now here come the ultimate hate magnet...in order for this system to work all players will have to lose their money, assets, and progress. I know that this is a sore subject and that there are those that would shank me with a sharpened toothbrush for saying this (sharpened toothbrush should be a weapon that is found in the prison) But as mid ground I propose that people do not lose their skills (driving and such.) no the player will no longer be level 140 anymore, but hey at least you dont have to grind lung capacity again right?

Sure it will be rough, sure people will miss their cars and the apartments but unless something is done soon that fixes the long term instead of making shoddy attempts at a cure this game will not last.

TL;DR: Fix prices, money, buy cars to keep, fix armor, and other random ideas. (and character resets to make these changes viable, sorry)

I actually read all that! But I have to say I do agree. A complete player reset (after fixing all the money glitches ofcourse) is really the only thing I can think of that would solve all the problems. It would probably turn some people away from the game but that might not be so bad after all.

A reset would indeed "fix" the issues some have with others glitching. Honestly, people glitching doesnt bother me any. R* nerfing sh*t before fixing the glitches does though.

They cant logically think its a good idea to reset ALL players. For the general masses who arent aware of it, or didnt glitch, it would cause a huge uproar towards R* and ruin their fanbase.

Im a huge R* fan & have been for years. Ive owned almost all of their games at some point & thoroughly enjoy their work. They are already on the verge of losing millions of fans & if they did a reset, i think the future of GTAO would be very questionable. I doubt i would return if all my legit hard earned stuff was to go away.

I liked all of the suggestions in the OP except for the reset.

The only reason I mentioned a reset was due to the fact that if they did fix the economy it would get thrown into shambles with all the excess money floating around. That is why I said maybe they should be able to keep their characters stats (maybe levels) to ease the pain somewhat.

No matter what there is going to be someone that is hurt by whatever decision R* makes, I am just proposing ideas that will hurt the game's lifespan less than that of the glitchers. (i admit I glitched a couple of times to get enough money for an upgrade I lost.)

I am not looking to make an even playing field, I am offering some ways that will heal the game rather than band aid the problem and hope it goes away.
