Maybe he wants to just upgrade his car for missions and free roam. The racing is stupid anyways because you usually end up racing someone who did trade wins and has an upgraded car, and skill really doesn't make too much of a difference since most of the time people just ram eachother anyways. Go back to forza or gran turismo. Trading wins for upgrades is completely fine.
