YanUK
Just browsing with a cup of coffee and I just thought how remarkable it is that this conspiracy, mystery, challenge has been kept hush by the powers that be for so long. The worlds gta community has not solved it and yet there have been no leaks. In a massive game with a budget of astronomical size and the number of units sold you would think that some tabloid newspaper would be 'digging' around for a story. Newspapers have a knack of investigating and encouraging leaks of info. Political reports, celeb kiss and tell, even England's half time team talks get leaked by insiders. Fair play to Rockstar, I'm sure that if an employee with the knowledge about the mystery went to a tabloid they could earn themselves a few bucks by leaking once and for all the details. The secret is well kept. So is there a mystery after all. For me, the answer is yes. Not because of under map glitches, YouTube videos, these forums, the worlds best gamers round the clock looking, Ufos etc etc but the confirmation that there is a mother of an Easter egg as indicated by Rockstar themselves. Shortly after release CEO said, "I'll be surprised if anyone finds all what gta 5 has to offer" This is the best value for money game I have ever owned. Not for playing it but because of the gripping nature of this mystery and the constant logging in to these forums for another clue. Pure excellence. cerevantis74
I just wish they would at least confirm a tangible reward is to be found or not. Nothing more than that is needed.
Osho
I actually never read CEO speaking as what's quoted in OP ( may be not come to my attention ) but the game is offering you ( us ) an incentive to play through single player for what GTA V has to offer actually in GTAO. I look this in a grand perspective for the GTAO world growing strong as time passes which is not what I thought honestly while pre-ordering, at least, my excitement was towards the game standalone. Now the game leaves a lot to desire.
McGyver55
Warning: the preceding reply will contain lots of words and may be considered long and boring. It also may contain views and opinions that some may find irritating and pointless. Those that are not prone to reading long and pointless postings and fly into a pissing rage when they occasionally do, are urged at this point to go have a warm cup of milk or hug a kitten and read something short and comfortable. If you choose to continue reading, you are further urged to have a cool bowl of water at hand in which to soak your eyes when done. Thank you. And now a reply to the OP expressing my general view on this topic. Sure there is a mystery... And surely Rockstar will sell ten times more games by not confirming anything. Rockstar is making games to make money... either that or they would have charged $20 for the game. I personally think that this "mystery" will take a very long time to solve. I believe the fact that the mural was so easily found led people to make a very obvious, but not necessarily correct assumption as to its role in the "mystery" and I believe this was Rockstar's intention to begin with. Like a good sidewalk con game, you keep the pigeon's eyes on the right hand while the left one pull's the trick... This isn't a con, but they gave us something shiny to watch and we got all crazy for it. Reading any of the forums devoted to this egg hunt, you will see there is one main "religion" devoted to a base ideology on the solution to this "puzzle" (that being the everything is centered on mount Chiliad and the mural, which is some sort of map/instruction/key chart) ... that forks into several other "sects" devoted to variations of the theme (Importance of glyphs, importance of moon phase, location of glyphs, needing other characters to visit... etc.)... And just like any good old fashioned religion- F**k you if you don't believe what they say. I think there are tons of interesting leads out there, maybe some are dead ends, but many are promising and suggest a totally different approach... the Popes and Pundits of this new order keep choosing to dance around their sacred fires praying to their precious UFOs and holy mountain, ignoring all other evidence. Its just a game, but in a microcosm of it's own... its a friggin study in human behavior. -You are given a big and somewhat beautiful game environment... its a dog eat dog world in which you can choose to rampage through or try and do the least amount of collateral damage possible to achieve your goal, you can turn a bind eye to that whole world too and try and find an artifact of massive power (as many hope) or just play the game and enjoy the occasional beautiful sunset or mountain view.... Just look at the social club pictures... Sunset vistas next to pictures of dead topless women. Trust me... if you are in College right now looking for a paper to write on human behavior, there is a whole thesis worth right here on these forums. Instead of looking at the whole picture, everyone is focusing on one part of the whole puzzle. Two or three years ago I had a conversation with a friend of mine, that based on the viral marketing of the movie "Cloverfield" how video games companies were missing a huge opportunity to extend the sale of some games by not adding some crazy deeply hidden easter egg (QUALITY EASTER EGG), and letting slip some clue that it exists within the game... somewhere... I find it impossible to believe that someone much more clever than I and employed in the video game industry did not come to the same conclusion as to the value of viral easter eggs hunts. And if that was so would they not want to easily throw you off the trail and draw out that hunt as long as possible? The overwhelming number of posts dedicated to one set of beliefs will drown out the smaller voices pointing out other important clues that do not mesh with the popular ones... in the end ignoring those clues will just draw this out longer (think of it as an analogy to the dark ages)... Ultimately whatever there is to be found will be discovered by someone with: A- no life whatsoever... B- a huge brain... C- an open mind... D- lots of patience... E- doesn't list stuff using A,B,C methods.... and most likely they will be someone who does not read these forums... One day we'll all see a YouTube video on "it" and that will be all. Devotees will debunk it, but even they will eventually have to accept they didn't solve "it". I just hope its soon enough for people to tie it into their thesis... and that it is a quality prize. But most of the people who participated will miss the general beauty of the environment. That I think is sort of sad... But having said all that... I swear if it is one of those "answers" at the top of a mountain that turns out to be a mirror, because "you" where the "answer" to the puzzle all along, type preachy endings... I'll poop in a big manila envelope and sent it Rockstar... Not because they didn't make a great game or tricked us into reflecting on our human stupidity or greed, but because I didn't get a goddamn death ray shooting UFO with a house broken, jet pack wearing T-rex as my copilot- after they put that goddamn mural where they knew I'd find it... That would be sorta misleading. I can appreciate the cleverness and dexterity of of a good sidewalk con game... still doesn't make me want to kick the snot out of someone who tries to trick me any less. Well... thats all... Thank you and have an awesome day. Gutslab and HERDIST
cerevantis74
If it gets released on PC, the solution will be ripped by hackers within 3 days, probably less.
Hooves07
I think the big mystery will be "why am STILL I looking for something that does not exist". R* has really been underhanded with GTA V. They were one of the better companies making complete games. I am sure if (and that's a big IF) something is there it's locked on the disk and after a update or purchase of any of the many (THQish) DLC's it will appear. AtomicPunk
Based on everything missing from this game, I seriously doubt that there's anything more than the UFO easter eggs. That's the big mystery and nothing more, IMO. R* loves letting people think that there is more because it creates legend and fake mysteries. They knew by putting the pic of the jetpack on the wall that people's imaginations would run wild. R* are liars and deceivers and this will prove it once and for all. Instead of actuallu putting something in GTA, they'd rather try bullsh*tting people into thinking that it's actually there. Sorry but I've learned how R* work these days. There ain't even a damn crane that works in this game, yet, there's people who think that there's a dinosaur with a saddle or a jetpack in it. LOL We can't even drive trains!! We have no vigilante, ambulance, or taxi missions!! V is what you see is what you get and nothing more. It's so half-assed that it's pathetic. spamtackey
Thinking about it from another perspective: It's easy to keep quiet if you have nothing to say. What if the whole mystery isn't a mystery at all and we all just think it is?
fish61324
What that R* CEO guy meant was that he would be surprised if anyONE (one single person) was able to track down and find all the easter eggs/every thing that GTA V has to offer. That is all that statement means.... there is no secret-hidden-read-between-the-lines message there. So please stop
