Trevor has NO SHOES Category at Safehouse! Can't Change at Sub

So as Trevor I bought EVERY ITEM available at Suburban, including shoes. At his safehouse there is no option to pick his shoes. None at all. So I go to Suburban to put a different pair of shoes on him that will look good with the clothes I have him in. I change shoes at Suburban and all of a sudden he's wearing his nasty nasty stained grey sweatpants. I go back to the pant rack to put a different pair of pants on him, it changes it shoes to something else. Back to the shoe rack, it puts the nasty sweatpants back on. Something tells me this probably isn't on purpose....or is it?

Yea he is special like that.. shoes are affected by his pants.

I've tried cleaning him up a bit, wearing fitted suits from Ponsonbys, buzz cut and shaved... while there were missions left, he stayed in the suits... after

, he winds up in work boots and his undies if I leave him alone for anything longer than 5 min (real time).

 

I think I could only change shoes while he was in a suit...

It's hard matching certain shoes with certain pants; no sneakers with pants, no boots with sweats... Someone mentioned it in another thread it would be great if you could set up some custom outfits for each character.

But is this a bug or is Trevor just not able to pick out his own shoes? Is that like a character flaw?
