Finding fuel tanks

Hey guys, can someone give me tips on where to shoot cars to hit the fuel tanks. I'm struggling here.

I believe you can only do that in SP.

no you can in online too. pistol dont do much for it though. shotgun takes it out quick. trucks will be left rear quarter. cars in the rear. however you dont have the dripping gas trail. sucks.
