Hey everyone! I just found this really interesting article. It seems Rockstar might actually be planning to expand GTAV Online with revamped versions of Liberty City and possibly Vice City as well! Read this article in the link below and let me know your thoughts.

Bullsh*t. But if it's true I am not happy. I want a full single player Vice City.

Las Venturas and Vice City should get their own complete games.

Liberty City has been overused, we already played it in most games.

I kind of know what you mean. It would be awesome to revisit Vice City in Single Player with the GTAV's protagonists and be given a new story to play - it would be even more awesome if we encounter Tommy Vercetti and even do missions together and possibly even switch to him as a playable character on missions - but all that sounds too good to be true, but you never know. :)

I agree with you on that. I think it would be better for Rockstar to just completely remake GTA: Vice City with the same graphical and fidelity prowess that GTAV offers, but unfortunately I'm sure remaking any GTA game is not in their "to do list". Unless your talking about a completely new GTA game with Vice City as it's setting, then I could see Rockstar doing that. :) Edited by ToxicBerserker

This was more or less confirmed a long time ago, prior to the launch of GTA V. I think Les The Benz said it.

The first new area will probably be North Yankton. That's my guess, anyway.

Don't believe that sh*t, the website isn't even a credible source lol. Think people...

I don't mean a remake of the two, could honestly care less about that actually. Although I do love Vice City for its story it doesn't need a remake.

I want new games. Preferably a modern day or 90's Las Venturas and an 80's or 70's Vice City based on completely new stories. Las Venturas especially.

I will be disappointed if they don't have a Las Venturas game with all of this heist stuff they're getting into.

I managed to grab the link from inside the N4G website, which is a credible site. You can view the same article on their website, but I was having problems reading the article on N4G's site.

WHY are they mostly focusing on multiplayer?! Why?! V's story was so great it'd be a waste not to continue it as a DLC or something like that. I'll be very disappointed if there won't be any DLCs. GTA Online is one thing, GTA V is another. What's up man?

Yeah me too. If Rockstar really do this for Vice City, I may end up giving up on GTA altogether, seriously.

I want a brand-new VC game, not this bullsh*t. Online MP is really f**king things up for GTA it's so not funny.

I don't mind if they do DLC's for online, they should do it for single player as well. The map DLC's are interesting, stop complaining some of you. That doesn't mean it rules out a possiblity of a future game with a similar map. Jesus.

This is only kind of true.

Here's what the article says The Benz said: "The Benz, president of Rockstar North, told Game Informer that they plan on giving Grand Theft Auto Online players access to other famous locales in the GTA series such as Vice and Liberty City."

Except what he actually said was: "Every part of Grand Theft Auto Online has been designed with expansion in mind. A dream of ours is to create an entire Grand Theft Auto world that consists of everything we've done or are going to do then let the player freely move between them. The launch of Grand Theft Auto Online is a beginning for us; it gets us a little closer to being able to make that happen."

That only means that's what he wants to do, and that GTA Online brings them closer, not that they're working on it right this instant and that it's coming. If I say "a dream of mine is to f*ck your mom, and me moving next door gets me a little closer to being able to make that happen." It doesn't necessarily mean that I'll be scrambling her eggs in 5 hours.

But it does though.

My guess is that we'll see Liberty City for GTA Online within the next few months. Rockstar already have a version of LC done on the RAGE game engine, so I assume just a few touch ups and it can easily be added to GTA Online

I have the right complain if I want. This is forum for people's different views to be expressed, a concept that is easily forgotten on here, it's reason why it's called a forum. Stop telling people they cannot express their views, feelings, and concerns.

And that does bother me a lot. I would really HATE if they brought out an online MP-only Vice City first before bringing it out as a full game on it's own. If that happens I would be very annoyed and disappointed that Rockstar could do that.

What I'm saying is there is no point complaining NOW when we don't know what's happening. And what do you expect them to do for SP? Episodes? That isn't even going to happen. A different map for online would make sense as they want to make the world bigger and let people explore those areas.

I don't believe it's gonna happen myself, realistically. But the source seems remotely credible, hence my potential concerns. However, if you took time to notice that I did in fact use the key word, 'IF'. There is a clear reason why I used that two letter word.

Ha, fair enough.

Bro I'm not joking though, for real. If they ever do that sh*t with Vice City, that maybe the end of my love-affair with GTA and Rockstar Games. I so badly want a new VC game. And I'm even still a bit p*ssed off that Rockstar did not maximise GTA V to it's full potential, and now I hear this sh*t ??

I don't think it will happen personally, but we will just have to wait and see.

It would be very disappoiting to me if they were to create another city, just to add it to GTA Online. I will give the multiplayer a try after having played through the storyline, but I will not turn into a multiplayer guy, which is probably what publishers want. Singleplayer is where it's at, in my opinion. And I will not change my way of thinking just because multiplayer has a higher importance in my favourite game series. If they are going to add more cities over time, then I hope that all of them will be available for single player mode as well.

I would guess they'll add it to the game with the arrival of GTA VI (in Vice City) and that they'd add Liberty City sometime in between.

I can see a revamped Liberty City, because the map has already been created in HD & as you know, the map is the the most labour & time intensive part of Rockstar's open world games. Yes Vice City's looks & atmosphere could be very similar to certain parts of V's locations. It even has wetlands that are similar to Florida's Everglades. However, Rockstar don't just re-use buildings (almost every building in V seems handcrafted, so no two look the same), so the work needed is comparable to creating a whole new game.

If these maps are created solely for Online multiplayer, I would never forgive Rockstar. That would be the turning point for me & the day I realize that the Rockstar who created III, VC, SA, IV & V, have becomes 'suits' & not artists. Just like the movie world, it's the bean counters who now dictate creative control, with test groups & aiming for the lowest common denominator with the most disposable income.
