Winning races in vehicle class to unlock Los Santos Customs upgrades?

I may be going mad but I can't seem to get the required number of races needed to purchase an upgrade in the Custom shop to count down. I enter the correct class when hosting a race, and also complete the race but they don't count towards the tally? Is there something I'm missing? Some upgrades require another 49 races in that vehicle class this could be a looong time away!

I should also add that I win the races, left a gap open there for a quip.

I've tried both alone and with peps when they finally join, but don't seem to count. Crew will be online later so may experiment a bit.

I agree, as I'm about as much use as a chocolate fire guard when it comes to racing I always crash in such a way that I can never catch up!

Why not make everything unlocked from the get go. Oh yeah, no one would play,

As constructive as that is, it has no relevance as there is no suggestion on making it easy or unlockable from the start.

Best way to unlock upgrades is to race the Super class. It unlocks upgrades for all vehicle types. Off-road and bikes included. Look for a post on here for someone trading wins on Criminal records or race against your crew. Shouldn't take too long to unlock everything. We got two crew members all upgrades available last night and they are around level 20. They may patch this soon so you have to actually race each vehicle type but for now it seems to work.

Its impossible in public lobbies as all fools seem to want to race is either Super cars or custom Sports cars.

Host the race yourself. Pause, go to online, jobs, host jobs, Rockstar created, races, then anything you want. You can turn off custom cars if you do not have one. I agree that giving wins away for others is kind of a cop out for them. I just want my crew to have faster cars. That's the reason I do it. I have 150+ wins under my belt and 80 loses. Only a few of those loses were not given. Lol. Racing with people in public lobbies seems pretty easy to me. Very few people are great drivers. I recruited two of the people that legitimately beat me. I race clean and promote it in my crew. We want to be known for our skill not our ability to wreck others.
