So, after playing on the weekend since this patch, I have gotten and lost around 10 levels, got up to 107K the legit way robbing and running missions, only to lose it all and be reset down to 65K, spent countless amounts of valuable time trying my best to do missions only to have the same f*cking 3 missions repeat over and over on me (1 for lamar, same one, every time, 1 for lester (cop out) over and over again every time, and simeon begging me to steal cars for him for half the cash I would get robbing a store)

 

This is getting old, you have a lot of promise, unfortunately you have given us a unbalanced unfun unstable turd. Get it together.

 

I guess 1 billion in sales was not good enough by the way, gotta make sure I get half pay outs so I give you more money in a cash shop right?

Your gains may get updated later, but it looks like the problem of updating after a mission still exists.

Considering I was grinding the same boring ass 3 missions that the game continues to give me over and over ad nauseum, no. I was grinding so I could stop playing them and just dick around with fun stuff. Ended up just grinding and not getting to the dick around with fun stuff part. I can see why people cheat to get millions, doing it the legit way as intended is f*cking pointless and endless tedium. A sisyphian task if I ever saw one, endless carrot on a stick.

This cloud save feature is dumb as f*ck, just allow people to save on game console and update when the player logs in and out. The cloud has obviously not kept anyone from cheating or abusing stuff, so what is the exact purpose of having a cloud save feature if it does not work or prevent exploits?

I always log out through SP, and haven't been affected. Don't know if that helps, but yes, I agree with you OP. If R* want to do this, absolutely paramount is that players can save their progress. Above all else. Even glitchers.

I log out the correct way also, exit GTAO, go to single player, wait for the character to finish his little intro, then open the ps3 console and hit quit game...every single time. NOT A SINGLE UPDATE OR SAVE IN 2 DAYS.

R* can stuff theyr cloud where the sun don't shine, lost all the progress I made yesterday. (12 lvls -.-)

 

And its not a mather of slow updating because the outfit change i did when I got back and had lost the lvls did update, so the lvls are lost.

 

 

This is rapidly becoming one of the worst online experiences I've had, Its been three weeks and it still feels like a alpha, teething issues my ass, more like scurvy.

i wouldnt spend it all i one spot... id save 1$ for a soda ;D but yeah... cloud saves suck ass... and if this is the future of gaming.... i feel bad for the future... cus cloud gaming is the worst f*cking piece of sh*t that has ever existed in the entire known universe (they even make fun of it in gta 5 with the "where did the cloud go" advertisement like they predicted all of this happening.)

Literally open your routers ports to experience true gta nirvana...you are sounding like you get time outs wit people around you online, but are fine to play with 2 people in, i had this too, for a week. No we fixed it the crew and me. Online is amazing now. Lester gives awesome coop that pays quite well... 12000 for stealing armee choppers? Lets do it

I am saying I do not understand the near jibberish that the dude i was responding too said, and no I am not a tech person. If this router ports issue is what is causing my saving issues then I would like help fixing it.

 

The difference being, I am not in a computer related trade, so no, I do not know everything about networks and computers. Rockstar IS in a video game related trade, so they should have the ability to make a functioning online experience...is that hard to understand?

Understandable. Google the brand and model of your router and include the words "game port forwarding."

There should be a guide somewhere to help you out. The game portion is to help list common gaming ports. I cant remember what they are off hand. I mainly deal with web servers so I could tell you those common ports all day long.

 

Now, as far as Rockstar goes. You are right, they should know what to do and guess what... they do. Just as much as anyone else in the trade.

Networking to this scale is a huge PITA no matter what tech, personnel, or how much miney you have. There are things outside your control.

Then there is the part of all the comouters involved in mapping out and caching all the traffic to which 99.9% are not owned or controlled by Rockstar.

Much of the other issues are gorwing pains. On a game of this scale and to account for all different possibilities is an immense challenge.

Sure, there are things that should not have occured. But I didnt make the game, I couldnt make the game. So I prefer not to judge. I just choose to enjoy what does work.

 

To be fair, I have not experienced the problems I read about. If I did, I would probably be more frustrated too. But, I'd rather worry over things I can control. Like getting my truck ready before Winter.

 

Btw, if you google port forwarding. I sincerely hope it helps out and improves your experience.

You can also try unplugging everything including the power cords and reset the router. This should let all the cached connections refresh and help the router remap the network.

Here is what I saw on my gaming weekend I lost.

 

"warning, cloud server save could not be completed!"

5 minutes later

"SAVE SUCCESSFUL!"

 

it did not tell me anything else past SAVE SUCCESSFUL. So it literally told me that everything was alright after that...Again, how the f*ck is it my fault?

 

Furthermore, this argument of "wait a few days to use what you paid for" is only acceptable in gaming I see. If this was a car company and they delivered me a car without an engine, and said "wait a few days and we will give you that.." without a determined time or reason why, everyone would flip the f*ck out. But in gaming, you are an entitled twat for not letting stupid sh*t like this slide by with the excuse "WORKIN ON IT!"

 

if it was food, and they brought you a plate with nothing but bread when you ordered a pizza, you would flip your sh*t.

Furthermore, it is software and networking. Combination of those2 never work right... ever. You can only make them look like they do. Surprisingly, comouters do not like to talk to eachother. You can blame that on the twats who initially designed networking. Not R*s fault. They cant control the portion of the network outside their control.

 

But in all honesty, you are getting worked up over something meaningless. Dont let it get to you. It only harms yourself and does nothing for you.

Instead, google what I said above. Learn something new. After you try those things, then you can take pleasure in knowing you did what you could.

 

Outside that, if it still bothers you, call R*s customer service, tell them what you told us. You'll get farther in getting something that route than with us.

So yes, it is different in gaming, because you're dealing with a mammoth task and it takes time to work out bugs on something like this. Most of which wont pop up until the game goes live.
