Mercenaries wtf?

When I set a target for the mercenaries and I kill the target before them it tells me that the mercenaries were successful?...did I just lose $7500 for doing the mercenaries job?

Yep.
Mercenaries are on them until they either lose the mercenaries (pretty much like losing the police) or until they die one time.

I had a bounty send mercs after me, but was able to kill him and then avoid them (via helicopter).

I find it to be a good tactic when you have an annoying camper and call mercs on him...then he has both me and the mercs at the same time to deal with...I move in when the mercs move in...doubles my chances of killing my opponent...but, losing $7500 everytime I beat the mercs to it....that sux.

Yea I found this problem to. Try killing him yourself, then sending the mercs to go after him why you leave. I find it useful when dealing with high level players who like to abuse the attack helicopter to kill them, then sick the mercs to keep the pressure up to assure he doesn't get back in a new one right away.

Really? Thats not a bad way to make money then, just don't kill the guy wait for the mercs. Hell may as well just open the map and send them on a guy at the LSC.

Wow, sounds like it's a money-making proposition to get with a friend, and take turns putting mercs on each other so we can both get a $38K car to sell as soon as the target gets killed.

That's what I was thinking. More generally, what's the going rate for mercs to stick around for 5 more spawnkills, so I don't have to do anything myself, just sit in my apartment and watch.

Eh if you are going to blatantly exploit a feature like that though, you may as well just use the LSC glitch. Just saying.

 

I will probably do it occasionally because this way you make a profit from the merc function, so it kinda adds more to your gameplay.

Fully modified Mercenary Mesas sell for upwards of $86k. I cannot confirm stock selling prices, however.

Someone sent mercenaries after me last night. I killed them pretty easily which surprised me, then ran after the truck to high tail it out of there. It disappeared as soon as I reached it ???

I haven't tried mercs yet, but I don't like the mugger system, I thought he was going to mug my target and bring me the money.

But I or anyone else has to then kill the mugger for the money.

Last week I stole a Merc Mesa to see how much it was worth and only got $6500. Maybe it's random? Maybe one of the two has bulletproof tires?
