What part of Rockstar has no Economy in GTAO do none of you understand?

There is only money. There are no goods, no services, no crafting, no nothing.

Things might be different if say you made you character excel at one thing only, so when playing as a group, you knew who the drivers were, who the gunmen were, who hacked, etc etc., as it stands now, any swinging dick can have max everything, and with an unlimited supply of cash in the game, along with unlimited supply of stock, your fears of glitchers having their way is unfounded, and frankly, childish.

Someone who played legit will have more than you. Someone who glitched will have more than you. Heaven forbid the bitching threads when people can just buy cash cards and have more than you. Wonder if you'll petition Rockstar to wipe them too.

Will survive much longer than the glitchers and grief ears are gonna play it. Then the real fun

This, hopefully.

Am I the only one who doesnt think this is a MMO? Like... the only MMO like quality is the leveling system.... It took me a few days (playing a few hours each) to work up enough cash for the car I wanted, the crib I wanted and the weapon I wanted (SMG) so... I dunno... like Im good and have a blast with this game. Just dont look at it like a XP grinding/farming MMO where GEAR means everything and look at it like a f*ck around shooter/racer/adventure game.

'LETZ RESET EVERY1' - Make a new damn character by yourself.
I haven't glitched or hacked and I don't want to start again. If you want to start fresh then be my f*cking guest.

As for the lad who's getting put into empty lobbies aswell.. That's because your internet connection is bad. That happens to my friend, he tends to get put by himself or with 1-4 more players and when he googled it, that was the reason apparantly. (Not sure how true this is, so don't take it as gospel).

GTA online will be fun regardless, they just need to fix the amount of RP you get from racing, that sh*t is ridiculous yo! Seriously guys, they need to fix that RP from racing. It's like a level a minute :S.

Okay anyway, they do need to bring out BAWSAQ and some way that we can sell cars to each other and maybe own another property. If it's an apartment or garage that you won't be using, you should be able to accumulate collateral on it. Let's say a player wants to rent a garage, he/she should be able to rent that from you for a reasonable rate, assuming they don't have the money to purchase one yet/don't want to purchase one yet.

All of that ^ makes sense and I know they can do it.

PS. Rockstar, put some f*cking gloves in the game..

Also, put bandanas as masks which you can put crew emblems on.

Jesus christ, is it really that f*cking much to ask? Some f*cking gloves and some f*cking bandanas to cover the bottom half of your face with a crew emblem on it?

No it isn't. Just do it.

I'm none too thrilled with the current state of GTAO. At all. However, even I think it's a little too early to say this ship is sunk. The game still retains a tremendous amount of potential. R* just completely failed to show it right out the gate, imo. They are fumbling in the dark atm but they kind of have to pull through. Remember, R* is also a business and before they ever sold us on GTAO they had to sell it to the investors. Although those investors may have been thrilled with initial sales, currently the long term sales and reputation are in jeopardy. I imagine R* is currently under a lot of pressure, and the last thing I expect from them is is to throw in the towel. Actually, I suspect they are likely working rediculously long hours and I think the next patch will bring some hefty and significant improvements/changes. But they have to fix the data loss issues above all else.

Also, the new consoles are not really that much of a threat. Most people aren't jumping systems even close to day one (and I bet most people who do keep the old system right next to the new). A lot of us learned our lesson last time about diving head first in to nextgen hype. I think also that this time around the new and old systems are going to coexist for quite long while in to the future.

Which goes along with my final thoughts. Who said GTAO won't be on the XB1 and PS4? Personally, I think the timing of GTAV's release was intended to hit with just enough time before the new systems are up and running to beta test GTAO on the current systems. This way they can tweek the game to thier hearts delight, find out what works and what doesn't, see what the fans love or hate and all that before porting it over to the new consoles which hopefully shouldn't have as many technical difficulties. That will make for a much smoother transition to the new consoles. After all, R* said they have years of support and expansion for GTAO. I highly doubt they intend it to stay on old tech. GTA 5 will likely not see next gen. Yes, GTA 5 and GTAO are considered different games that are only tied together on current consoles.

Love it. Loved it since day one. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that have only experienced minor glitches. I maybe have lost 200k towards upgrading cars that didn't save but I should have just waited instead of trying to get it to save multiple times. Oh well.

Remove all the glitches and hacks and you still have a luke warm game.

But, I know better than to challenge someone's belief system.

it's getting beter each day

some of you ppl just never withnessed a online thing come out... its always bad the first month

but y there is room for loads of improvement...

the when nex gen comes out is bs.... apperantly the current generation of youth cares more about gfx then content/gameplay

also 1ste wave of next gen games has absolute sh*t in them.

but its cool, im waiting for the pussy players to give up so we only are left with ppl that take shots and take aim for shots

I think they really need to up the payouts for some missions. Some of them barely cover ammo + body armour now, and others are a hell of a lot of work for $5K.

Lowering payouts makes the game more compelling.

I think GTA: Online will survive. If Rockstar sticks to their word, we will be getting new content over time. I have no problem quitting for a while and then coming back. I played GTA IV for quite some time before I stopped all together.

In addition, I'm not getting a next generation console at launch. I want to wait and see the reviews from real players and for more games to come out.

Is #4 correct? Because if they were not going to release GTA V for PS4/Xbox 1, they would be loosing on some more cash from people. I'm sure their priority of GTA V was (and still is, I guess) PS3/Xbox --> PS4/Xbox1 --> PC.

Right now online is on life support and I can't see it ever recovering.

The launch was like a race horse injuring its leg right out of the gate. It was simply horrific and one of the worst I have ever experienced. This is coming from a PC gamer that plays Blizzard games so Ive seen a ton of horrible launches but GTA Online has the crown.

Anyways the main issue that will effectively kill the community is what to do with glitchers aka cheaters. The glitching is rampant, you have too many players running around with tanks and millions in cash which has destroyed the game economy. If they penalize those cheaters they'll just quit. If they don't penalize the cheaters, legit players will quit. So in the end no matter what Rockstar does they are going to lose a large amount of players. I can't see them ever recovering from this.

5. Don't honk your horn at cops because you'll get one star and they'll shoot at you. Not even joking and this is just one example of how stupidly ridiculous some aspects of the game are. They need attention.

You think nothing happens when you honk at cops like a dumbass in real life ? They might not shoot you but they sure will come to see wtf is wrong with you.

How is this a bad thing ?

Do you know of any online games that have survived a mass exodus of players?

I don't and I've played many.

This is why its important to release it on next gen. GTAO can really flourish on next gen with more players n having all.that extra memory n.power will help ALOT too.

The game will survive. As much as R* went and made it a Faux MMO, it's not one. People are still playing GTA IV and people will still be playing GTA Online.

Also, a reset is a ridiculous solution. It makes no sense to punish the people that have played legit to get the cheaters. What they should do is re-purpose the game focusing on the fun and freedom of the past GTA games instead of trying to milk more money out the game with the hamster wheel model.

Ideally they would:

-Remove the rank requirements for weapons and attachments (Leave the kill requirements for gun colors)

-Remove the tracking BS from the high end vehicles and make them steal to own. Decrease the spawn rates by about 15%

-Remove the rank requirements for car mods (leave the race win requirements in)

-Remove the rank requirements for activities

-Revert the mission payouts to the full amount each time. They already took out the ability to play replay them, no reason to gimp them further.

Money would still matter to some degree, but it opens things up much more for the average player.

Lol at the OP's 'points', none of them will even factor in to the games lifetime.

If you have friends, it will be epic entertainment for a long long time to come. If you are a loner or someone who plays with randoms or people who you only know online, its gonna die FAST.

2. Rockstar is more worried than anything about people making money at a fair rate, so they cut rewards for missions in half. So now we have easy missions that grant $3000 and semi difficult missions that grant $5000... making them pointless. Really both are pointless because you can do races and make $3000 in like 30 seconds, but I'm sure they'll nerf those to $10 at some point. Wish I had glitched to 100 million if I would have known they were going to make everyone grind for 3 hours to be able to partially customize one car.

It won't last long in my opinion because of this.

They're more worried about making sure it's not easy to make money than they are about making sure our saves don't lose any data.

Before you begin nerfing, you need to make sure your game and your (horrible) method of saving are both stable.

I highly disagree with the halved payouts and have created a thread on Rockstar support (where people have been awesome!) and have several comments plus 40+ upvotes in support of restoring it.

40 whole upvotes!! what is that in a percentage of the 29 million(so far) sales?

some of you don't seem to realize that gta:o had 15 million people trying to connect on day 1, thats more than any other online game has managed, WoW has a 10million concurrent player record and it took a few years to get, gta did that and half again on it's FIRST day! there was bound to be issues. and by the broken concurrent player record somewhat unpredictable.

the game does have it's issues, but it's trying to do something thats never really been achieved before, i will say it's a little lacking but i'll give it more than a few chances because of it's ambition.
