Your Favourite Live Performances

When I was younger, I was a huge fan of The White Stripes. I followed their career religiously, and snapped up every magazine I saw with them on the cover. This was also aided by the fact I wanted to suckle on Meg White like a starving pig, and somehow could make it in a band despite playing the drums like a deaf child wearing oven gloves. One Christmas, I was very lucky to receive a copy of their live show Under Blackpool Lights on DVD. I had narrowly missed out on getting tickets to that show, and I was gutted for days. Obviously, I was delighted to have at least some way of experiencing it.

When I first played it, I hated it. The quality seemed really crap and I felt a little let down. The more I watched, the more I understood. One day I swiped a few beers from my dad's fridge without him knowing and watched it again. Something clicked and for a while I thought it was the greatest live show I'd ever seen, even though I had never been there. Every now and again I pop it on and re-live it.

so young, so talented, so much soul. just a little independent DIY band from youtube who sold out MSG. no big deal.

instant classic. future legends. if this band was any tighter they'd still be virgins. even the crowd is amazing.

I love this live version of White Light/White Heat. In fact I'm not even familiar with an album version. We used to have this on a "mixtape" and in my friends shed we would smoke a bucket and listen to this. Glorious moments of being a teenager, stuck in the wrong era, getting really high, listening to this old live 60's music about getting high. Maybe have to repost this in "favourite solos" thread. It's so good.

By the way, the video isn't of the performance. The video is apparently Andy Warhol being a dope using the camera.

Shows that I actually attended:

Napalm Death & Obituary in 2005 at the Emerson Theater in Indianapolis.

The three times that I booked Hellwitch in November 2014-2016. The crowd was sparse to non existent, depending on the show. But. they played as if it were a packed house. One band that does not screw around live.

Shows that I only saw on video:

Anal c*nt at the I-Rock in Detroit on 5/13/94. Lots of great crowd participation on vocals, great sound mix and Seth clocked an idiot that shoved him. Lesson one: Don't shove the crazy, drunk guy with a mic in his fist.

Anal c*nt at some hole in the wall sports bar in Boston at some point in 1994. The place gets destroyed. Pretty funny footage afterwards of the owner bitching at Seth for the destruction of his bar. Seth and the booker not giving a damn. Hilarious.

This is probably the most generic answer you can give for this question, but I still go back and watch this every few months and probably enjoy it more than any other live performance that I've seen so there's no other answer for me to give. Freddy Mercury was a straight up stud.

This was the first concert I saw by Michael Jackson back in the 90s on VHS.

Hearing this takes me back to 2004 when I got San Andreas and this Pink Floyd "Live In Pompei" DVD.
