Your Favourite Live Performances

What's your favourite? I've seen some great bands, hip hop groups and art its, and been to a lot of drum and bass and jungle raves as well.

But nothing, NOTHING, will EVER beat this IMO:

KSE are so f*cking good live. Howard's voice is just so amazing even when singing live and Adam running around with his cape and short shorts throughout most of the show is funny as f*ck.

Anything Rammstein does live is always crazy as f*ck.

God Of GTAO

The most polished live performance ive ever seen, not just from the woman herself but her DJ manipulating her vocals live so it matches the album version of the song, Stuart Price is really incredible.

Night Machine

Pink Floyd's The Division Bell tour was by far the best live tour I ever saw in person. Between the flawless performance, surround sound that surrounded the entire top of the stadium, the light show that turned the entire stadium into a spectacle, and the crazy cool stage. It was simply F*#n amazing. Otherwise, Iron Maiden I saw back during the Seventh Son & No Prayer For The Dying tours. Both times they were phenomenal. What a great F*#'n live band.

Only downside is Shaun Ryder's drunk performane of Dare. Other than that this concert has everything a Gorillaz fan could ask for.

Seeing Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica live in one evening was an ethereal experience for me. Two particular standouts were the moshing during Angel Of Death and Metallica playing the Call Of Ktulu.

I've seen Kevin Parker a few times irl (perth represent) but I would give my left nut to see the handsome devil smash out his tunes right in front of me. just look at how orgasmic this live performance looks:

I think Janet and Sade were my favorite concerts of all time. We're seeing Mariah soon. I hope she still has something in the tank...

This is when being slightly older makes things a bit different.  Back in the day it used to  cost somewhere between $8 and $12 to see great bands. Example: I spent $12 to see The Police, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Madness, (and an unknown band opening) REM in like '82.

It was common to just go see "whoever" on a weekend night, because it was just something to do.  I'm not at all a ZZ Top fan but I've seen 'em.

So... my all time favorite might be a bit obscure compared to my live music history.

My wife and I had the honor of seeing Koko Taylor in a totally small, intimate, blues bar.  She was like all but 5 feet away from us as we sat at the bar.  It was surreal.

Yeah, going to see acts now is very costly. And I get it, there's no money in album sales for the last 20 years. It's all about touring and merchandise. What they loose out on albums sales is now pretty much included in a concert ticket price, depending on the artist of course and their clout. I remember tickets for Neil Young last time he played here were €100. I mean, I would pay that to see some artists because it's live music. It's a great and maybe once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Lately, I've keep coming to watch this Highwaymen performance. It's just a lot of fun, with 4 legends on stage. Never thought I would be in to country/western but I suppose I have K-Rose to thank for that.
