stealing a fighter jet

I figured out that merryweathers choppers dont get wanted levels in the base untill u land but i still keep getting picked off because the animation for getting into the jet takes too damn long....any ideas?

Seriously, when I get in there, I almost always get away with a jet. Getting away from the missiles they shoot after you? Eh, I'm about 70% on that one. They get me every once in a while.

Its not too hard, but harder than SP. use the fencing around to hide from the military. Once you lose your stars make a dash for a jet. Then hope there isn't a tank staring at you as you get in. I've been able to get one without encountering a tank about 50% of the time. Tanks never gave me a problem in SP

I've managed to get away with a jet every time I get in the base using the jump off the NE highway, but I crash the jet within a few minutes usually because I'm terrible at flying it

I had half health no armour, the animation is long but the take off is fast, made it out alive

Bring a face car and use the cliff outside base to launch you inside the base.

Get a helicopter, land as close to the SIDE of the jet as you can (NOT IN FRONT OF A WING). Jump and run, jump in the jet. Run the engines hard and pull back like you're trying to fly straight up IMMEDIATELY and hold this until you're well up in the air.

Pull up landing gear, fly almost straight up and either curve to the left or right.


Done it over a dozen times, have yet to be shot down.

Easiest way I have found is look for the blips on the radar and get in the jet that isn't close to an Ai blip. Once you have taken off and are out of the base's perimeter ring Lester to remove wanted level that way you will not get shot down simple!

 

I might add that you will get locked on and have to do a barrel roll to dodge a couple of rockets but the rest is plain sailing!

lol.. nothing will give you a wanted level till you land. fly low, fly straight and dont take off in the jet as soon as you get it. i posted a how to on this a week ago. search for it.

Like other people said its best to find a jet with no AI around it. The jeeps, and tanks won't attack you unless they spot you so the faster you do it the better. The missiles that come at you acutely come from fighters, who spawn if you stay in the military airspace with 4 stars. Just bank hard right or left to avoid them..

The hanger is the best place IMO. You can get in and out of the jet before the ground forces can mobilize and fire on you. Even if they come towards you the hanger gives protection until you are taking off.
