Does the gas tank upgrade on the Sandking explode from being fired at?

I like how the gas tank mod for the Sandking covers your legs if you take cover behind one. This way one isn't confined to sticking to the large wheels for cover protection.

 

Since I don't have the game on hand this weekend, can anyone confirm or deny if the gas tank upgrade is an explosion risk?

I would assume not; I doubt they would make that kind of a change, and it doesn't seem like that's the way they work the whole gas tank mechanic. I haven't found a Sandking yet to test that out, but I'd say it'd take an intentional change of the mechanic to make the tank upgrade any more sensitive than the front seats.

I can confirm it does not, I've hand a sandking xl, from day 1 and love it, provides lots of cover and is just a badass truck! I had the gas tank on there for a while and the truck got shot up plenty without it blowing up on me. Took it off because I didn't like the way it looked
