Is the Sultan the best getaway car there is?

I see a lot of hype about it, so I got one. However, I haven't really upgraded/unlocked much yet, so I don't know how good it is upgraded. I don't really care about looks, more about performance.

 

But is it the BEST 4-door? I think that you can max out acceleration even BEFORE turbo, and since you can go past max, the acceleration must be insane fully modded. How is the handling fully modded? Do you have to drift or brake hard to turn, or is it like a Felon, where you can just tap the deceleration brake and turn?

 

If it's not the best, what do you think is the best? I'm trying to find the right car for me, and I think Sultan could be it, but it seems easy to spin out with.

no, there are better 4 doors, I can't remember which, but I looked at the statistics and there were better ones. oh and btw, just because the acceleration displays as being maxed out at LSC, it isn't. you have to go to the pre race screen to see your real acceleration bar. it is actually impossible to max out the voltic's acceleration, so you certainly don't have to worry about maxing out the sultan's.

That is my getaway car. Hands down awesome on and off road. Handling and acceleration are amazing. Won't use anything else.

I am a large fan of the buffalo as far as 4 door cars...its quick and handles very well making it easy....one however I find it extremly easy to run from cops up north is the huge 4x4 truck....it can climb almost anywhere and leave the cops behind...I know its not anywhere near the fastest but with the bullet proof tires and its ability to climb almosy strait up I like it.

I'd say it's probably the third best four-door getaway car behind the Exemplar and the Tailgaiter.

 

But the Exemplar is expensive for a car with no visual mods, and the Tailgaiter is one of the rarest cars in the game.

Sultan is only hype from GTA 4. That's why everyone's going gaga over it. There are way better 4 doors out there. Jackal, Buffalo, and Exemplar are a few.

Agreed.

I did the same test. I had a fully upgraded Obey Tailgater and I dragged raced my friend in his upgraded Sultan(He didn't have turbo unlocked) and lost. Sultan RS is overpowered as f*ck. :/

I think "best" is subject to opinion. I love my Sultan, fun car, nice car, handles well, fast, it's even really good off road without off road tires. Exemplar is another great 4 door car. Everyone has their personal preference.

according to vehicle wiki, exemplar has higher top speed than the sultan and the same acceleration, so either the wiki is wrong, or your drag race was not fair

Tailgater looks nice and handles well, but is too slow IMO.

Wiki's stats are probably for stock cars only, or it's just wrong. Try it yourself.Races are biased when it comes to testing a driver's compability with a car. Slipstreaming and no traffic causes skewed results. For an accurate test (should probably do several do to difference in geography), get stars and start driving. See which car nets you the most escapes/you're more comfortable with. Edited by Out and Sideways

I have both a Buffalo and Tailgater, and I can definitely say the Buffalo is the better car pretty much all around, I only keep the Tailgater for Sedan races (Buffalo is a Sports car of course).

its definitely a nice ride when it comes to driving it in free roam and stuff with the steering and acceleration but in races if its fully maxed out against stock cars it can definitely rape but once it goes against any other sport cars that are maxed its pretty much back to how it originally was..

 

so nice car (don't have one) but definitely not the best getaway car.. my getaway is either the Felon, Sandking XL, Granger or the Dubsta (all maxed out)

I got rid of my Felon for the Tailgater.

 

It was nice though. Wish the Tailgater had better acceleration.

 

The Exemplar is a turd on 4 wheels.

How did you get your sultan to race an adder? They are in different categories no?

Sultan is insane. Take a maxed out one to the west of the prison and go hill jumping for sh*ts and giggles. Awesome strength and doesnt seem to get a wonky wheel as soon as most other cars do when plowing it into the side of a boulder.

 

As for a best getaway car, that is very subjective. I would probably go for a fast super but compromised handling is the trade off. Not really tested the Sultan in missions yet due to the cloud going tits up most of the weekend.

The Sultan was actually one of my favorite cars from San Andreas. Used it a lot in SA:MP. Seated 4, fast and great handling. Perfect for crews.

it even flys in the right hands.

Yeah, I don't really like cars that can't handle well, which is why I'm worried that the Sultan spins out a lot. I may just switch back to the Felon, as you don't even have to brake to turn, and you don't drift...
