[SPOILERS]The hunt for North Yankton?

Recommended Posts

Now, if I was of any use I'd help but I'd just like to say good work guys, I love North Yankton - You've inspired me to replay that mission and just go driving :)

If I find anything useful I'll be sure to share it with you guys :^:

You know it shows that Rockstar really do care about little details - I'm suprised that they would make a map like that for one or two missions...

Very useful to know, my amigo.

Is there any more high-quality version of the NY map? I've been thinking that the clusterf*ck of roads that the train line goes through near the town could be an extended part of Ludendorff, but without buildings marked

As in the map (which we flipped) or the in-game map (where you drive around, etc.)?

The map which we flipped. Like, is there a higher quality version of it or a bigger one on the RGSC?

I took it from RGSC. That's the biggest it can get, I'm afraid.

Ahh, alrightyroo. I guess I'll get started on trying to make a full "Ludendorff".

If anyone's got any ideas or references, it's gladly appreciated. I don't know much about North Dakota, and all I've learned about it so far is what I've learned from North Yankton. Who knew such a boring place in real life could be an awesome place in a video game?

Just going back on the map topic, RGSC map has a large empty space on the west (really east) side.

Good point. I'll try to think of an explanation for that.

Maybe there will be some add-on?

It's also wierd how the barn from Prologue has no building mark on the map.

Something fishy is happening.

Is there anything there? Has anyone checked?

The barn at the prologue? There might be something worth exploring, if it wasn't for the mass amount of cops swarming you. Is it possible to do the god mode cheat and meander about the barn at your own will? I haven't tried it yet myself.

That empty space is there so the tab (Mission description, leaderboard, etc.) won't interfere with the map.

I'm an idiot. :facedesk:

It might be possible to go around the barn. When Trevor hides behind the dumpster, there (probably) is no fence or anything.

Gonna try and check.

Don't worry WildBrick - Empty Space isn't really worth it anyway

Unless there was actually something there to explore lol

There could be something there, though, like maybe some bigass prairie/plains or something

Can you go that far though, is there a restriction like the mission "Bury the Hatchet" where you are limited to the waypoint?

I'm not quite sure myself. I can imagine there wouldn't be, seeing as there's no possible explanation to keep the player 'boxed into' that part of the map, aside from being shot by the cops.

Also, here's the map of extended Ludendorff I made up in a few minutes in MS Paint. Hope it's a good reference for what we know so far, what might be out there, and speculation stuff.

I'll play the Prologue now - see if I can validate any of the POI's you came up with

Most you can validate would be the farm, along with the church in "Bury The Hatchet". You can also validate the train line. However, I gave it a name, whereas in the original it's unnamed.

The rest of the POI's are, as stated, speculation.

universetwisters

Well then I'll just drive around and see if anything is particularly eye cathing

Go for it, my amigo. Try to take some pictures if you can, but if you can't, be sure to be descriptive ;)

Replayed Prologue. I got out of dumpster and ran to the back of the house, game skipped to last cutscene.

Invincibility cheat is not working :(

Mission Failed: The Route was abandoned

I mean - really?

Prologue or Bury The Hatchet?

Also, there's another thing in Prologue. I wanted to explore the road (next to Bobcat Security) and I suddenly heard Trevor say "Turn back or suffer the consequences". Then he continued with random threats and I failed mission for abandonning the crew. It's the first time I ever heard him say that during the gunfight.

ITT: A gigantic waste of time and energy,

Both - And I also get 'The Car was Abandoned' in Prologue......and in Bury the Hatchet

I suddenly heard Trevor say "Turn back or suffer the consequences".

If you play as Trevor, does Michael say that instead? And why does "Turn back or suffer the consequences" sound so familiar to me?

You just joined yesterday and that was your 7th post.

I made a (car) safezone map for Bury The Hatchet (based on the offroad route I did)

You can bypass the barrier a little bit if you get out the Asea when you get "Get back en-route to Ludendorff Cemetery" message. Walk a little bit and you can discover a bit more. I managed to get a bit further into the city. In fact, I stood right at the fail barrier, moved one step in front and loud "Mission Failed" played.

Dunno. I switched off my Xbox and I don't want to go upstairs and wait until everything loads.

And yes, it is familiar. You get the same message if you try to swim/fly too far out the map in GTA IV multiplayer.

And?

It's fairly obvious that if it's not on the map, you can't get there.
