PS3 problem

ok, so im playing single player collecting letter scraps and ufo parts, i get the scrap on the radio tower near the altruists, then as im flying away my engine quits working, cars stop spawning, radio gets stuck on the fuzz from channel switching then the game freezes... anyone experience this?
