Post 1.04 still getting stuck in skycam. PS3

All the BS aside, I am sure it is extremely complicated to be the guys at R*. The money glitches were obviously unexpected. Let's be realistic, they have been on an aggressive patching process ever since online dropped. They deserve some credit for the work.

However, I am still seeing significant wait times while loading into the game. Over the last hour and a half, i have had to restart the game 5 times.

 

1st. Hung on opening screen.

 

2nd. hung in skycam entering 3rd session.

 

3rd. Whether this was a problem with the game or a random fluke, when I went to join a friend after pressing start, my entire friends list was gone from the game menu as well as my media bar. I had to restart the ps3.

 

4th hung in extremely long load time in skycam after taking friend's invite trying to join a second session.

 

5th As I typed this my game has been stuck on the opening loading screen and has not loaded into a session.

 

Do I really have to join online after entering story? I mean you guys are the ones that put the option in there during a previous patch.

 

  • Fixes additional issues causing black screens, long load times, and players getting stuck in the sky cam

 

No, it didn't. When it is an issue like this that not only seems like it was not fixed, it actually seems to have gotten worse. So although I do not get as upset over glitching like some people do, I am just as dumbfounded and have to also ask myself WTF are you guys doing over there sometimes??????

I had a lovely time watching the roof of my apartment sway back and forth over the last 10 minutes or so while i browsed the forums.

I don't know dude - I mean I know that this is an issue for some, and some of the problem is surely on the RS end of things, but have you considered checking out/rebooting your local connection? I know the few times my games has gotten stuck, a router reboot has seemed to solve it.

Yeah, I have the exact same issue. Bad sport and everything you described. I have an open ticked and even spoke with the rockstar support team. They said they haven't had any reports of this happening or know why. I've tried everything to fix it, deleting/reinstalled patch, direct modem connection, joining each lobby, having my friend sign in to online from his console, and nothing.

My character doesn't show up in the wheel unless I go to "choose character". My guy is still there according to social club. I'm guessing this is a serious problem and at this point I'm apprehensive I'll get to keep this character I have 50 hours into.

Those are some pretty annoying issues you don't hear about that often.

Have you tried contacting R* support? Maybe it could be caused due to corrupted data or whatever reason.

 

Edit: it does sound like some network issues though. May not be on your end, but you can always try the things they described on their connectivity page !

So R* updated their support status last night. Is yours working today? I haven't been home to check yet.

I got stuck in sky cam last night after a survival, heading back to freeroam. Its the first time ive got stuck like that since pre 1.04 and i had no choice but to quit the game via the dashboard. Luckily, according to my social club, everything saved.
