Rare/Hard to Obtain Vehicles

Bram, like I said in the previous post once I solidify the "how to" aspect I will post definitive details and pics. The method mentioned works but is a b**** without pics. I took a snapmatic to prove this is possible, damn haters out there...

I believe you entirely, but unfortunately this doesn't prove that the method works :(

You could have edited game files (if you have a jailbroken PS3 it's possible), and then you can change any vehicle in your garage to a police vehicle.

Like I said, I do believe you, but I'm just saying.

If you could let me know where you park the police car and what you do after you've parked it there, I would really appreciate it. Would love to store them like that! :)

The way that has worked for me, on XBOX, is putting the ungaragable car just before the entrance to the garage, going in on foot and coming out in one of your own cars, then hopping in the ungaragable car. If done right you should be close enough to get in the car and also trigger the cut scene where you walk into the garage. Once in, your new car should be in the garage with you.

I don't mod my xbox, and TBH I thought it wasn't possible to mod your xbox and also play online? In any event, I don't have time for such activities, my life is pretty busy as it is.

Willing to help people accomplish this, on my own schedule though. If I am on, I'll likely help out.

Good luck!

So can you take a picture of where you park the police car? Thanks!

Basically, you want to hop in the car right before the cutscene starts playing?

Correct, and it's quite a pain to get positioned properly lol. If I have time tonight, I will try working on it. I do plan to play GTA tonight, but a close friend of mine who I haven't seen in a while will be on, and chances are my focus will be on doing missions and grinding for money with him (no homo).

I just parked it RIGHT on the edge, and whenever I press Triangle to get in the car, it walks towards the door and then starts the garage cutscene. If I back the police car up by an INCH, I can get in the car but the cutscene never starts and I get the 'You can not store cop vehicles in your garage' message :(

**EDIT:

Yeah, I can confirm this method does not work. I managed to get it on the edge three different times, but you either walk right into your garage or you get the message that cop vehicles can't be stored. You need a modded console for this, unfortunately :(

I only did this with the Sherriff cars (not SUV), not the LSPD stuff. I would try with a white Sherriff car like mine and see what it does. Maybe some cars won't work for this? I haven't had time to test them all yet.

Nah, it doesn't work. Sorry, but I call BS on this method until someone comes with actual proof.

Worked for me, sorry you're not capable of accomplishing it :beerhat:

Since you're calling me a BS'er feel free to also stop PM'ing me for help on it. I did it, it worked. I took a picture for proof, if you still want to call BS then that's your business.

Add Dr Shiny Pig on xbox? I be on all day tomorrow

Also since they are your personal car can you drive them into ls customs? Like once there in do they act like a personal car or still act like police cars so you cant drive in harage or ls customs?

Sure Dr, add me and tomorrow night we can give it a run through. Tomorrow is Monday, so back to work for me! :panic:

I believe the car will still act like a Police car, which means no LSC and returning it to your garage will require the same glitch technique used to get it in the first time. As a result I have not experimented with it too much for fear of not getting them back in my garage again, though with the apparent bantering and BS name calling maybe I should just abandon the whole project altogether, the negativity for helping out is becoming a bit ridiculous.

Well, I did exactly what you told me (I put it right on the edge) and the cutscene either starts when I'm still outside of my vehicle, or I get into the vehicle but the cutscene never starts.

I'm not calling you a BS'er; I am just saying this method obviously does not work. At least not on the PS3.

I do have to say that your lack of explanation, pictures/videos is a little bit suspicious. When I asked for your help, all of a sudden you had a friend online which meant that you couldn't take 2 minutes of your time to take a picture of where you position the car. Again, not saying you're bs'ing. Just suspicious. The fact that you get so angry about me saying the method doesn't work also doesn't really make a strong case for you.

If you prove me wrong, or if you get other people to actually confirm this method, I will be the first to apologize. Until then, I am saying this method does not work.

Sorry to come off so harsh, I've just experienced nothing but 12yr old trolls online concerning GTA V this weekend, so I've been skeptical of everyone today. I suppose my reaction has been a bit too over the top. There's a few things I put before helping people in GTA Online: My family, then playing with my friends who are actually local to me. I spent the last few nights mucking with this "glitch", and choosing to do it again to document it, vs. playing with someone I know? I think the choice is pretty clear. If I can get a car in for DrShinyPig tonight or tomorrow then either him or I will post the pic. TBH I'm not doing this for any credit, just passing on knowledge. I never claimed this would work for everyone or every system. It could be an Xbox specific glitch for all I know.

Also I can't take video because I don't have a capture card such as a Hauppauge PVR.

Just to confirm that the technique is also false, I had a wanted level and my radar was flashing. Right when my character was half way in the car the radar stopped flashing the garage cut-scene started. My character stopped proceeding to enter the car and walked into the garage. Calling bs on this one till video proof is provided by some one able to pull this off.

No problem. I understand; people on this forums are assholes.

You don't necessarily need a capture card, though; could you perhaps take a video with your mobile phone?

Also, if you could take a Snapmatic pic of where exactly you place the vehicle in front of the garage it would be great. Thank you!

Please tell me if I am doing something wrong;

I steal a copcar, lose wanted level. Then I position it RIGHT on the edge between cutscene/not cutscene.

I go into the garage, come out with one of my cars.

I get out of my car, walk to cop car and at this point I press Triangle to get in to the car.

After that, my guy either gets into the copcar and nothing happens or he starts walking towards the car and then the cutscene starts playing, leaving me in the garage without cop car.

Bram you got it on the nose, that's exactly how I did it.

Once I get back onto this topic in game, I'll be sure to take a picture. When I do this with DrShinyPig I will do snapmatic, it will be easier with two people.

So what exactly happened? Did the cutscene start playing before you got into the car or did you get into the car and then the cutscene started?

  • 2 weeks later...

So my garage consists of:

  • Rat Loader
  • Phoenix
  • Sentinel XS
  • Daemon
  • Voodoo
  • Sultan
  • F620

Exactly how rare are these cars to YOU GUYS?

I also have a Sabre Turbo, JB700, and a Tornado but those aren't what I would consider rare.
