Have guys tried the cover mechanics? I heard the walls you hide behind can block bullets.

Yeah, that would be great. If my character didn't stick the top of his head or elbow out of cover. It would be especially great if my character wouldn't automatically WALK ontop of low cover whenever he gets close to a box or something.

Maybe you need to find a better wall to hide behind. MAYBE

You're telling me that you've never had any problems with the cover system. You're telling me that it's flawless? That I'm just not good at TPS games? Right....

No, I'm merely stating that MAYBE the wall your using for cover is not suitable for the situation.

This happens on just about every wall. The only walls that are good for cover are big apartment buildings, and they're not around all the time. Try taking cover behind a concrete barrier, and you're surely gonna get a bullet in the brain. What if you get caught in a firefight in the middle of the street? I hit R1 to go to cover, and my dude runs to the side of the car that's facing the offender. Your statement is invalid.

Sorry if it is, just talking from personal experience. I hardly die playing missions on hard difficulty. I never have trouble finding cover, and my armor always saves me. Maybe it's the playing style.

 

 

I highly doubt that, considering I play mostly military sims on my PC.

This doesn't seem new. The enemy AI in missions has been tough in GTA Online for a while now. It's ludicrous how enemies actually get more health than you get. I've literally seen enemy AI get up after I've shot them twice in the dome with the Desert Eagle.

Yeah, Rockstar is slowly butchering this game. This morning an NPC took my health down to the nitty gritty with two shotgun blasts, even though I was wearing heavy body armour...... And he was on the other side of a building....

I lol'd. ^

What Rockstar are basically saying with this new patch is, "buy our cash cards or we will halve the pay out of every mission again".

 

I never thought I'd say it but I'm seriously considering taking my copy back to the store and going back to Payday 2.

What is everyone complaining about the cash payments. Still got 25k for base invaders this night.

 

Also the medical bills are 75% less. In the end you will keep more money than before.

Just because it's hard mode doesn't mean basic logic doesn't apply.

You can also press Cover-Button (R1 on PS3) when close to a Cover and Eat something from Inventory to Replenish Health in Sticky Situations.

Ive had full armor and died in 4 shots before this patch, On survival got hit twice with a shotgun and died and i had full armor, 2 shots from a store clerk would leave me with a sliver of health. Its always been pretty unforgiving. I cant believe its worse now

truly unbelievable just completing any mission has now become a freaking TASK and for less money? not even worth it

I can't confirm. Today I started to play missions again, after 5 days or so and after 60 level rises. I find them easier, but maybe it's just because of better skills and better equipment than before.

I don't really see any difference, been playing hard on every mission so i get extra RP. But i have to agree that the NPC's are bugged as f*ck, (On some missions) Did Titan of the job last night with a friend, i had to shoot a guy with sniper rifle 3 times and all of them were on the head. He died after getting 3 shots on his head, he didn't even fall until he died on the 3rd shot.

 

I also think the NPC's aim is stupid, they always seem to hit you, using sniper is almost useless unless you are so far away you can barely see the NPC, because they always know where you are even if you are using suppressor, and are like 1 mile away. It have been like this before patch though (well i havent noticed anything different since the launch) I'm not saying to make the missions easier, but atleast make them realistic. One time when i was doing a mission to steal a tanker, i was using the assault rifle, and was shooting a full round on a NPC who was reloading, he was like 1 arm length away from me, but he didn't die, instead he 1 shot me with his shotgun. Then my friend fired 1 magazine at him, with his rifle and he finally died.

It was like this before the patch. I'm guessing some of you just finally started to do actual missions. Ever damn npc in this game is a member of seal team 6, severely lacking any balance. Honestly I'm think R* should just stick with SP because they have proven they lack any balancing skill what so ever.

The cover mechanic is fine. Yes sometimes you go to the wrong side of the cover (mostly on vehicles) and get clocked for it, but that doesn't happen often.Its also about the angle the npc has on you. I've never been killed by just having my arm or head exposed (even on small concrete barriers) unless the npc had the angle on me. Its very easy to popup kill one guy and go back to cover without taking a shot. The npcs don't take pot shots at your head when behind hard cover only vehicles and that's why you move to get behind a panel not a window of the car. You can't do most missions by simply running in guns blazing...

Something else I noticed... I used to be able to steal jets with ease from the military base. I was trying to do it earlier today and couldn't. Tanks run up on you MUCH faster now.

As mentioned in other posts, body armor is a joke. A cardboard flap that offers no protection and makes your character uglier than he/she already is because it cannot be worn under clothing.

 

I have also noticed missions glitching (i.e. Enemies that you have to kill for the objective not spawning or the mission not progressing to the next step after the required action is performed).

 

 

Check your inventory, body army, set to no body armor.

 

Fixed, its purely a model.. you are still protected.

 

 

edit: also "Waaaaah... I got shot by 2 bullets and died.. totally unrealistic!" kay... at least its not mag or battlefield... BF3 hardcore takes like 9 shots to kill someone from a 7.62

So we now get much less money and die a lot more. Tried base invaders with a 4 man crew who knew what to do and got our asses handed to us 4 times strait. I love the new difficulty honestly, but i need more money for the work. I spent near 12k on ammo, armor and stickies and didnt even get a payout. If they worked out the difficulty then they need to put the pay back up. Im broke. Survival is the only thing i can make decent cash per cost on and it still costs ammo.

Also gotta love flying past a cop on foot at 100mph in a stolen buffalo. They somehow are able to1. Identify the vehicles stolen 2. Take aim and 3. Score a head shot? Needs fixin

I know - the mission "Death from Above" was quite hard, still got only $2000. That's pretty ridiculous since you barely can buy sandals for your character with 2k.

Don't use cover where you pop your head up to shoot. You are basically giving the enemy free headshots and that's also why the armour seems useless. If you are forced into cover like that, you can always press the right stick with trigger to shoot over top of the cover spot without exposing your head.

 

I have noticed that enemies seem to require more shots to kill since the patch. That's on normal difficulty however and I'm used to doing most missions on hard...

Btw there is a "easy" option if you find "normal" too challenging

 

easy mode does nothing except make the enemies take less shots to die. they still have 100% accuracy and you still die in the same amount of shots as normal and hard.

I don't know if it's a mistake but I noticed I was having a lot of difficulty taking anyone down. Definitely did 3 sniper shots to the head and the guy was still alive. I think it might be a glitch though. I reset my console/game and then it played out as normal even on Hard setting.

This game consumed my life for the first two weeks, but it is CLEARLY going to sh*t. I should have glitched my ass off since the glitchers are not being punished. WE are being punished for playing the game correctly, and it is just getting worse and worse for us while the glitchers are laughing and having fun.

 

f*ck YOU ROCKSTAR. I used to be a huge fan but I will NEVER support you again you greedy scum of the earth humans.

That only lowers the damage enemies take to die, not damage they deal!
