Have any of you had issues with all those try-hards out there? Let me give an example.

 

Yesterday, I left my apartment in my crappy Buffalo instead of my Effigy to go buy some more ammo. These 2 guys, one of them WickedBeast, chased me all the way there and camped outside while I got my highly needed smg ammo. I killed myself so they can't blow me up as I walked out, and I ended killing both of them without dying. Got in my car, and what do you know? They blew the tires. They continued to harass me until the game in the most unethical fashion impounded my Buffalo. I was losing all my money and had no choice but to switch sessions.

 

I still had to pay the rest of my money I had to get my car replaced.

 

Seriously though, if they tried any harder they may have popped a vein. You guys ever have these moments?

I always just start a mission and sit in the game lobby. Usually they will go away. Im not sure if it will protect your car or not, but it gets you away from them completely. Plus if you start a mission with Ron while you're in LS, it should spawn you in Blaine County. Saves you a suicide.

Either get a throw-away car to do errands in or go into a solo session.

I find it very difficult to level up. Like every mission I do dishes me like 600 or so RP. Pretty bad.

I got triple teamed by a group of tryhards just last night, after I killed them around 20 times (between the three) and they killed me maybe 6 or 7 times they tried acting like they were big, running their mouths, as if running a 3 way on someone was some sort of pinnacle of social status.

 

I never start fights with people, they always come after me first. It blows my mind how some people find some sort of self rejuvenation out of ganging up on a solo player.

Then when I ask them if they are done yet, they proceed on calling me a crybaby. lol

I never complain about it to them, I just calmly ask if it is out of their system yet and they proceed to say dumb things like, "YOU GOT ROCKED, SON!" I'm like lol okay Even though I got more kills on you guys.

 

I digress, I just find it amusing how people can take their own flaws and try to publicly push them on to others.

when you play a sport, say basketball, do you not try your hardest because it's "just a game"?

If you're not trying what's the point of wasting the effort?

 

Now you don't have to try all the time, if you really just want to cruise and chill then go ahead, it's just a different play style or mood.

 

I play Call of Duty and BattleField professionally, I am the definition of a try hard, not always playing to win though, therefore not always trying my heart out.

 

But it's definitely more fun when people are actually trying to survive, use tactics, and try HARD.

 

in the end I guess we can all boil it down to opinions, your call.

Griefing or attempting to grief someone is not the same as playing someone in a professional sport, not even sure how in the hell you came up with that anology.

 

In a team sport both sides consented to the game, and that game has very defined rules, with referees that are suppose to be enforcing those rules. The game also has a set duration on how long it will continue, regardless of how badly one team might be losing. In most combat sports one can even choose to give up. Two people driving by and picking someone that is playing alone as a target for their online form of bulling, because they know it will have ZERO real consequences for them, is not even CLOSE to comparable to a professional sport.

 

Now, as for the OP, he does infact have several recourses to avoid said situation, and some of them do not even involve switching to an invite only server. One of the most under used weapons in someones case like this is to start playing on Free Aim servers, a lot fewer douches there because you can't rely on autoaim to compensate for your inability to actually play the game.*

 

*Edit* And before anyone says I just don't understand PVP or competetive sports, I took Tookong Moosul for over 7 years, competeting in school tournments, and have played on nothing but PvP servers since Ultima Online back in '97. Yet I have never felt the need to grief others, and tell them it was their fault for being in the same place as I was...

It was probably the suicide in ammunation that sent it into a spin. For some reason when someone deprives me of a kill by taking the easy way out, I will relentlessly hunt them and make sure they don't have a moments peace, funny times lol

These aren't try hards. Try hards are the ones who grind/glitch/cheat constantly and very rarely do any PVP as that interrupts with their ranking. These guys were just having a laugh.

Yah, that's called griefing. This is why I only play in sessions with a lot of my friends or in private sessions.
