Spending real life money to instantly get in game cash is not an in game economy mate no matter what dictionary you consult.

Why wouldn’t I consult a dictionary lol?

Understandable, but the idea of an economy is goods and services that can be traded. Since GTAO has an infinite number of Super cars, its only a matter of time to earn it.

What is upsetting people here is allegorical to a real world perspective. There are people who want to earn a decent living and work hard for their money, and we are annoyed that other people had connections, found a loop, or just got plain lucky. We are mad at the 1% (or possibly more due to the amount of exploiters that we dont know about).

I do realize that a large portion of this game is dedicated to getting money. You get money for guns, you get money for cars, money for apartments, hell even money so you can die. You want a fast car, you want a minigun, and you want a nice apartment. But dont you want to race friends? Kill several thousands of gang members? I did earn a decent amount of money from doing races and missions with friends. But thats because my hours at work got cut and I had 3 days off in a row. But I am sitting on 110k right now with a 205k apartment and 3 cars in my garage (all stolen or free) and I am pretty happy. Each level I get a new mission I can do. Each time more creative than the last. I like blowing up Armored Trucks for 10 or 12k at a time and having the police kill me and only take 1k of it.

The idea of the economy is the not the money, its the people with the money. Thats who we all secretly dislike. We want our own Vacca and we are sorely disappointed with how long its really going to take.

I also feel like R* is a little double-handed in their reasoning for the patches. Yes, they did fix a few exploits, but they also fixed them too well. They are trying to make the game playable but at the same time they are trying to make a little bit of extra coin too. Are their future DLCs going to be free? Rumors say yes, is the cash in the game going to still be the main focus? Definitely. I love Rockstar, they made a great game and I love the online, but they are a business first and I have to remember that. If anything Rockstar is the economy and we are the consumers. Rockstar is trying to carefully manage their resources to boost their economy while still delivering a product worth paying for. (which goes back to what you said). So the "economy" persay is more of an "outer game" experience, than an "inner game".

It all boils down to asking yourself, is this game so important that you will spend money on it?

My answer is no. especially after my last paycheck was 100 dollars less wtf am I going to do for the next two weeks wtf getting old sucks never get old

If your answer is no.. just enjoy it until the next one.

If your answer is yes, then buy your way to the top, get everything you want, and enjoy until the next one.

Rest assured I respect your opinion.

Respect acknowledged. You make very good points but I'm confused because you seem to state my case at the end :D.

The way I see it: Economy is the wealth and resources of a country or region (region can be anything, cty, state, etc.) especially as it relates to the consumption of goods and services. GTA Online is easily classed a region (the city of Los Santos, San Andreas).

The wealth and resources of the region are job payouts and jobs respectively. The consumption of goods and services are the clothes, cars, and houses you buy in game.

“In-game economy,” for lack of a better term, does exist. There may not be any player to player interaction but there is certainly a cash flow cycle; and because it’s simulated doesn’t negate the fact it exists (i.e. Legendary Motorsports has an infinite supply of vehicles).

The GTA Online world, in this respect, is almost identical in structure to real life. You work at a job, you get paid; you buy food, clothes, vehicles, and shelter from goods and service providers. This is an economy. What we’re saying is that the “in-game economy,” is a part of the bigger whole which is Rockstar’s Cash Card sales.

If it wasn’t there would be no reason for Rockstar to reduce the payouts of any missions? If there is another formal reason, I highly doubt that it weighs anything on the scale against Cash Card Sales.

There’s clearly an in-game economy that Rockstar recognizes and is attempting to throttle to affect the “out-of-game economy” which is their Cash Card Sales.

Play awhile? Dude I play plenty enough with other stuff that goes on in my life, like spending 8 years in the infantry, 2 years deployed, 6 years a welder once coming back home, so excuse me if I think getting scraps for payout on missions is a f*cking joke.

Are you being serious or was this a joke?

Since when is it Rockstar's job to accommodate your schedule? A beach doesn't have to accommodate your work schedule. If you are too busy or exhausted to get to the beach, no lifeguard or city official is going to run outside and push the clock back for you. This is a game, it's a hobby, it's entertainment. If you are too tired or busy to play, that is because of your choices in life, it has nothing to do with Rockstar.

Now if we could sell super cars or weapons and they were limited. Then the game would be ruined because the billionaires would control everything

Why.

Why do R* keep lowering the payout of missions. Seriously? We still can't "restart" missions because of some alleged bug, but even when they say themselves that they do not mind people grinding missions repeatedly, but then the replay feature is locked, and they STILL lower payout.

Your 500 missions claim is bullsh*t. Your "fragile" economy in jeopardy from excess cash? What do you expect this "stimulus" package to do.

I get online today, and immediately hit ron up, who gives me base invaders, I think to myself "yeeeeeeeessssss" now I can get my bulletproof tires for my Carbonizer! Nope. 12.5k.

Massive eyeroll. This is absurd.

Tell you what R*, just make everything pay out at 500 dollars and whenever you release your probably broken heists mode, make the payout 1000 dollars. So you can preserve your economy.

If you guys didnt inflate prices on everything online in a feeble attempt to artificially instill length into your game, 12.5 wouldn't be so bad. I understand expensive cars, but:

12k for a suppressor

25k for bulletproof tires

35k for Turbo

20k for Race Transmission

19k for a goddamn paint job?

and you guys want to keep lowering payouts for missions..... You do realize that not all of us have several million sitting in the bank right? Yeah I own a sweet apt and a couple of sweet cars, but I rarely sit at more than 20k in my pocket without dumping it into a car's modifications.

I agree with you. Making a good amount of money was quite hard, even before the nerfings. Believe me, the highest amount on my account ever is 40k and had to really work for it! You barely can afford two paintjobs with that amount of cash.

heists good people, they're coming soon. that's why they reduced the mission payouts i think

i think its so people will buy cash cards, its almost to the point if you dont glitch and you want to be a millionair you almost have to buy cash cards

./sigh

im tired of people wanting to get EVERYTHING the game has to offer in one day. The point in gta online is to unlock stuff and earn things over time. i agree with the payout reductions. if u want it all right away go to single player or just stop playing all together
