Too bad most of them are idiots. Maybe that's what Activision is relying on. Just like Rockstar with PC players =P Doesn't matter how crappy they treat us, they're confident we'll buy the game. Maybe I'll get Call of Duty Ghosts myself. I need a new game to play this Winter Edited October 17, 2013 by brootalperry
IveGotNoValues
Eww, the fact that they can even compare their garbage recycled generic FPS game to Rockstar's masterpiece is disgusting. If ghosts does sell more than GTA then I give up on the human race...

Proletariat
I wanted GTA V to beat CoD's records. And it did. It exceeded my expectations. Hopefully, Activison didn't jump the gun took quickly with statements like these.
Sweettooth187
COD rocks but I couldn't ever see it beating out a large sandbox game with both extremely high single player replayability as well as an ever improving online component. No match in my opinion.

aStiffSausage
What's the big fuss? Of course large companies fight between each other, especially once one company gets records broken after the another has been keeping the hype up for their game. Of course Activision now tries to bring CoD: Ghosts back to the topic after most have went past the hype of GTA V, there are lots of more customers for Activision now. One more thing I wish to know, from a true Call of Duty hater. Why you make it into a such a big deal? I mean, if I don't like a game, I don't go shouting "THIS SSUUUUCCCKKSS DON'T BUY IT!". No, I'd instead, in case someone asks me about the game, try to politely point out the bad things, but also tell something good which other games don't have. Doesn't make you sound such a douchebag, right?

TaCtiCaLTommy
CoD iS the most recycled hands down. Almost no change since it launched with the 360. Madden and NBA CANT be changed. At least not core gameplay, its football and basketball...cant really change a whole lot gameplay wise. Shooter can. Not to mention they milk customers with 2 games a year.....lawl

LOL. http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/10/17/gta-5-call-of-duty-wants-its-records-back Wish Activision would just throw in the towel. I'm sorry, but with all of these new, innovative games on the market with actual stories and messages to tell, Call of Duty is not as prestigious as they think. Battlefield is whooping their rears in the "generic shooter department" and even then, Battlefield is a better designed game overall. Good Game Activision, you killed Guitar Hero, you even struck down World of Warcraft with your garbage publishing, and now, you are going to deliver the final killing blow to your final big pillar of business. I can see Ghost being the worst selling Call of Duty, but maybe I am underestimating the number of stupid people on this planet.
jordanj56
I don't understand the hate of COD on this forum? I understand that it's 'recycled' per-say, but it's consistently the easiest game to pick up and play with a few buddies (other than sports games) ... Regardless of what most of you say on here, it will continue to be a dominant force in the video-game industry due to the simplicity, and consistency, it offers players. Most gamer's today aren't as devoted to games as most of you are nitr0monkey and TaCtiCaLTommy

Cinoy
it wont break it with ghosts based off the preorder chartz... The Pizza Delivery Guy
Activision, maybe if you took by R*'s example and put time and effort into your games, perhaps you COULD regain your precious records? Thought out post: Cod's fanbase is dwindling, the influx of FPS games increasing in popularity in the last couple of years have seriously stolen Cod loyalty. I'm sure Battlefield alone has taken half of Cod's fanbase away. Gamers are also waking up to the quick-buck-copy-paste game Cod has become. Every game since MW1 has basically been a $60 map pack. Now look at GTA IV in comparison to V. The difference is so obvious, it's night and day. R* took everything from IV, expanded and improved upon it, and even added new things. It looks new, it sounds new, it is new. What did Cod Ghosts expand upon Black Ops 2? Photorealistic dogs? That doesn't even meet internet storytelling standards. In conclusion I'm not at all sorry to say to Activision: Nope.
oCrapaCreeper
It would be more sensible if they called out Battlefield instead, you know, the game that is intentionally trying to compete with Call of Duty and is a bigger threat to them than GTAV is. Although in this case, it's purely about money. Rockstar is generally on their own little island when it comes to competition with other games, they really just want to make money off quality, and ignore the whole competition bullsh*t. MissingNoGuy55
I think if I wanted to play Quake III Arena HD 2013/Return to Castle Wolfenstein HD 2013 I'd go play either of the two as is. 727gta
What a shock. A game company loses its record and wants it back. They probably will get it back. I don't like the game but it has a very large fanbase and when it does sell more than GTAV I won't be surprised.
