Joonas08Joonas
I've saw that if you start the mission as Trevor, you fly to North Yankton yourself. I started it as Michael so I took an airliner. But, has anyone went in the direction Trevor went? Maybe North Yankton really IS in the game outside of missions? davetopper
North Yankton is in Canada. And I think it is a linear mission. San Andreas is a state island in the Pacific. Who knows where, maybe it is similarly located as a military asset like Alaska or Hawaii. So who knows maybe you could fly there but I rather doubt it. Jackie Boy
North Yankton is based off North Dakota and ergo is in the U.S. albeit on the Canadian border. Ludendorff is named after a German general as a reference to Bismarck, North Dakota's capital. Please, do some research for once... cholesterol and Jimmy Darmody
TakinThyBacon
for the last fking time NORTH YANKTON IS IN f*ckING CANADA Then why was the money at the bank the same looking currency as in Los Santos? Why was the American FIB there? Why did the police have US flags on their uniforms? Edited October 17, 2013 by TakinThyBacon Jacob-B

Yap, also Yankton is in South Dakota, giving the theory of North Yankton being in North Dakota or close even more strenght. It is also stated that North Yankton is in the Mid-West. I don't recall Midwest being in Canada.

nbr94
I really hope rockstar make use of North Yankton in the future. It was just too perfect of a location to only use for one mission. I really hope Rockstar releases DLC with it. If you guys started the mission as Michael, when you were driving to the graveyard you would notice that there actually is a map layout of the town but you can't go outside the route. Anybody think they might use it again? Edited October 18, 2013 by nbr94

Its just for the mission Rockstar's new rule Your engine stops when you go far away from LS.

StarFyer
It's in the mid west. During the prologue mission when they're running for the get away car there's a sign that reads. 'Welcome to Ludendorff home of the Mid West's biggest beaver"
cholesterol
Its on the Canadian border in the Midwest. Trevor does have roots in Canada though, from various dialogues. Mostly Rampages and Golf though.
King Kapone
From my post in the other North Yankton thread.. North Yankton is based on North Dakota. The police vehicles are based off of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The license plates are based off of South Dakota license plates. The police patches on their uniforms are based off of the Medora Police Department, in North Dakota.Lastly, the town of Ludendorff is based off of Bismark, the capital of North Dakota. "Ludendorff" was the name of a German World War I general, while "Bismark" was the name of a 19th century German chancellor. North Yankton has absolutely nothing to do with Canada aside from sharing a border to the north.
Lil ski
Am I the only one who realizes the OP was asking if anyone started that return to North Yankton mission with Trevor or if it's available on free roam, not debating whether North Yankton is in the US or Canada? and No OP, I only did that mission with Michael but according to my strategy guide, when you control Trevor and fly in that mission, you're just flying to a random blip in the ocean and then the game goes straight to the cutscene in the graveyard. After that you are forced to play as Michael. Flachbau
