GTA V's story was good at the start but it lost it's gusto in the second 1/2 of the game. Online is a disaster and there are far too many glitches. I do not advocate the cheaters, but to make a cheater pool for glitchers but not add people who purchase money packs to that pool is bullsh*t. There's non-existent AI, the "fun police" spawn every time you walk, and there's too many issues. Great game, but there's no way I could give a game with so many problems game of the year, but I don't feel any other game in that tiny list deserves it, which means I won't be voting. I said hi to a pedestrian and a bunch of nearby ones started attacking me, I bumped a pedestrian and automatically got a wanted level, there's no interiors, and the police spawning is ridiculous, letting them spawn in train tunnels and on mountains with horrible rubber banding that not even they know how to control. Maybe if they put some effort into single player instead of wanting money from online, and did a decent job at aspects of the game, I would vote for it. They're not even fixing these issues, they only care about multiplayer. If only reviewers were more honest instead of giving it 10's, simply because they're scared that anything lower will ruin their reputation. Love GTA V but still so many bad things have happened with it recently and Last of Us was amazing all round. 100% people would have freaked out just as much and called it a sh*t game just as much if it had online or some connection online that screwed up. Multiplayer games provide more playabiltiy but get so much more sh*t because they're bound to have rocky launches. I bet most people like you who circlejerk over The last of Us have probably never read many books outside Uni/School and have no idea what a good story is. If you asked them what they thought of Peter Holmes relationship with his wife and baby in comparison to Joel's and Ellie's relationship in the Last of Us, they wouldn't have any clue on what you're talking about. People who rave about "Cinematography games" and praise games for its story only are a bunch of simpletons. It's why people love Nolan films. It presents itself with just the right amount of pretentious self seriousness and gets glowing reception from critics while having just enough blatant subtext to make the average gamer/film goer feel smart. If these people watched any post apocalyptic film depicting these exact themes, THEN played The Last of Us, no one would give a sh*t. It's a good movie, a sh*tty game, but it has phenomenal presentation and decent characters. the reason why games with actual subtext and brilliantly handled themes with mature stories in games go unnoticed is because it's not presented like a blockbuster movie on and spoonfed to audiences, so they don't get it.
