to start, YES i own a subaru in real life and love it XD

as we shoudl ALL know GTA cars are a MIX of real life cars mashed together... subaru, evo, toyota ect....THIS car is really whatever YOU see it to be in your head.

anyways

i have been questioning lately IF the car is worth it...
i have a sultan in my garage.... i have not yet unlocked all the mods but its defenetly good.

however doing races i find that even the R* social club free car can out-run me....
i have been winning FIRST place in many "sports" races but only when utilizing "catchup" (slipstreaming), could this be more of a "slow and steady wins the race" kinda thing?
in races i wouldnt stand a chance of winning (with the current mods) without sliptstreaming.... maybe i need to wait and fully mod the car?
even when using the "3-2-1-GO"-boost in races the free car still out runs me



it seems some "rare" cars arent nessisarlilly the best option... i also got the Rat-Loader online and customized it... the thing cannot turn (maybe more suspension upgrades?).... i dont think i would take this into muscle car races unless i just wanted to have fun with it not planning on winning...

also.... anyone know IF off road tires have more grip/traction? could they help in races?
or are ALLLLLLL tires just for looks?
also curious if car armor make the cars heavyer/slower?

Not meaning to break up the Scooby/Evo discussion, it has familiarities but it's a 'Karin'. More or less Toyota. So it would be the Toyota Altezza, the Toyota version of the Lexus IS300 (2003?). Car lover, had to say it.

 

I always saw the Karin line as a mix of a group Japanese manufacturers. But it is clear to me that the Sultan is modeled after an Impreza as it is the king of offroad/rally racing and thus called the Sultan.

 

The 2 door version being loosely based on Brian's car from The Fast and The Furious, a cross between an Impreza and a Skyline.

 

I think the car is a big deal because it has great road and offroad performance.

Its a tough car to win races with. You really have to drive it right. It shines on those off road/on road tracks...........you can outrun almost any sports car in the dirt, you just have to make sure you get enough distance so that they can't over take you on the roads.

I miss the notes of the original engine.

 

Me to, I also miss the side valve and I think its a crime when I see people with a Sultan RS and any other spoiler besides the original one!

Its been one of mu favorite cars since GTA SA. It was VERY fast in SA, and IV made it even better with the RS.

But everyone on its own.

 

It is the best all around car when fully modified. Great on and off road. Probably the best car for offroad. Take it up Mt. Chiliad and you will see what i'm talking about. Resembles Subaru/Evo/Lexus. Its a rare car to find and was the secret car in GTA IV

Is actually not that hard to win races at all. Just grip through corners instead of trying to drift it. Brake less, hard on the gas out of corners.

Simply put because it is the best all around 4 seater in the game. Has high accel, decent turning, off road ability, and of course seats 4 unlike almost all other high performance vehicles.

 

Also of note it is considered a sports car, which means finding people willing to race in its category, to collect the wins needed for full tuning, is much easier than if it was considered a sedan.

It is technically the fastest 4-door in the game according to the GTA wiki. You can get it early on, the mods make it quick and snappy, and everyone loves a tuner.

 

I dont understand the appeal of muscle cars (minus the Sabre Turbo) but I dont start a brand new topic about it to complain.

no catchup is when the person in first place slows down and there is no way to turn off slipstreaming

Its 4 Door its Fast... its sporty looking

 

Ive been on the Sultan (and the slidey Elegy) since San Andreas. Though Im not draw to it like I was before. mainly because I roll solo dolo. so no need for a quick 4 door.

The only good Sultan is a San Andreas Sultan. IV and V it sucks. Super cars, despite only being two doors, own the streets. They can even climb mountains!

 

And I am quite disappointed in how much muscle cars suck in V.

 

Edit: Despite hating it, the Buffalo is probably the best sedan.

I take it you didn't play IV online! The Sultan RS... It was the overall best car and was an amazingly popular car because there was only one location where it could be obtained and it had like a 99% chance of spawning there!

 

This is it in IV

For a game that didn't allow car modifications it looked amazing and the acceleration was mind boggling!

This is actually my personal Sultan and as you can see the V version is 4 door and lacks the valve built into the sideskirt, this is a result of it just being just a heavily modified standard Sultan as the Sultan RS can't be found in any other way other than modding the standard Sultan!

 

This is why everybody wants one, its because its a car with history behind it, once you add the turbo its also a really great car in regards to both speed and acceleration.

I'm bummed we can't add the scoop on the hood :/ I feel like they didn't want us to mod it and make it like the RS in IV :/

it was one of the best cars in the old GTA San Andreas. but now, its no good.its quite slow and erm it looks like a taxi when given two colors.

You can add the hood scoop. Mine has one.

I just found one last night. After upgrades we ran it head on into a train 3 times and after several 4 star chases this Sultan was still kickin. Sorta.

 

I think it'll make a nice heist vehicle.

Yeah I don't get the hype either, it's a fast car, but there are tons of faster and better looking cars. My friend was obsessed with the Sultan RS in GTA IV, and he wants it now in V too.

It's one of the only true rally cars in the game. I took it to the windfarm trails and it was great fun.
