[Feedback Wanted] Interested in Tapatalk?

We've had some users ask us about adding support for Tapatalk, the popular mobile app used to access forums. If you're interested in us adding support for Tapatalk to GTAForums, please vote in the attached poll.

I personally have never used or even properly heard of Tapatalk, so it wouldn't concern me whether support was adding or not. However, I do feel that it would benefit some members and therefore I will say yes

Absolutely yes. Tapatalk is a must for me when I'm out of home, I use it a lot. To browse GTAF I'm forced to use Chrome which will bust my data plan (No longer as much with the mobile theme but still), so Tapatalk would definitely be a good adition.

Would love to see it. As far as I'm aware,the people who prefer to browse through the browser could still do that with it enabled.

To be honest, it's not really needed now that GTAForums has a solid working mobile site.

I would love to see this, the mobile version is just about useable but it's not a pleasant experience.

 

Any update on whether this is going to implemented or not?

Absolutely. I use this on my tablet and it is great. The only downside is that Tapatalk will spam a message to any mobile user who isn't using Tapatalk each time they visit the site. That alone might be enough not to install it, sheer annoyance for non tapatalk users.

Woah, I can't vote because it says I already did... but I could have sworn that I haven't.

Thankfully we have the ability to remove our vote, so if you feel you didn't make the right vote, you can remove it and re-vote

Every post made from it puts a message on the end that has a few blank lines and the the tapatalk advert. Makes threads twice as long.

 

It was implemented on another forum I use and within a week the forum lost 65% of it's members to somewhere else, including me.

 

The mobile version of the site is fine, there's no need for tapatalk whatsoever.

I would normally say yes to this, but in the case of this site I don't see any problem with your mobile version. I'm a senior moderator on another forum and we use VB and have TapaTalk support. Most of the time it's good, but it does have its shortcomings (obviously we do *very* little moderation with it, but that's mainly down to the amount of custom moderation tools we have). We also have a custom made version of TapaTalk, but even that doesn't cut the mustard.

 

I just think that unless there's a real benefit to it then you're just giving yourself another avenue of potential problems. Don't fix what isn't broken

Well, Andy hasn't been on in a while. I was wondering if any other Admin would be interested in installing this.

 

This will be a great addition over the mobile version. It's really hard to use GTAF on Android.

No. Tapatalk is.almost never.keen on upgrades. Meaning if you do then you won't be upgrading the site when 4.0 comes out cuz tap will be way behind.

Yes Please, It would be a great addition and would make it much easier to use on your mobile phones for people who haven't used TapaTalk but are saying no to it just try it and you'll see how much easier it is to use that instead of using the mobile edition of this site.

 

I use TapaTalk for several forums i'm apart of including the QoTD Forum so i decided to look up GTAForums and i came across a GTAForums but it's in Arabic because it's GTAForumsIran but i did noticed that MODifed is on Tapatalk...

This is just an example of what I mean with the ignorance in all the negative feedback I'm reading here. The tapatalk advert he's talking about is just a signature that comes by default, and you can either put a custom message or remove it completely.

Once you get used to it, it gets a lot more comfortable than zooming in every part of the screen to be able to hit a tiny link.
