Why so frowned upon to destroy personal vehicles?

First off, I obviously don't think it is a good thing to do, and I don't do it myself.

 

As far as I know it is the only thing (other than quitting missions) that gets you kicked into "bad sports sessions". On 2 occasions now I have destroyed somebody's personal car but both times were due to me being massively trolled by griefers, which I don't mind as much as most people.

 

Some people on here seem to get furious when they have their car destroyed, mine has been blown up several times and if you call insurance straight away then mechanic straight after that you can literally be back in your car in like 30 seconds - 1 minute.

 

R* have made it so easy to kill players (costing them 1 or 2k a pop) as many times as you wish and to go unpunished but the second you touch their car (which only costs me a few hundred to replace within a minute?) it is this huge crime. It really doesn't add up.

 

Surely a more deserving 'bad sport' thing would be killing players in passive mode perhaps? Maybe just compensating the guy their insurance bill would be enough.

In addition to blowing up personal vehicles, killing anybody who is in passive mode (or killing others while in passive mode - by doing it from a vehicle) should be an offense. Except the second should be FAR worse.

I had a shafter I was on my way to LS customs to insure. Some guy randomly put a 3k bounty on my head and some ass in a helicopter blew up my shafter. I have yet to find a new one, and I searched for like 2 hours.

 

Also, if you have an insured vehicle, not only do you have to pay hospital fees, now you get to pay insurance fees too, and if you have a high-end car it can be over $1500.

I think it was an attempt to relieve stress from their support centers, knowing that not stop tantrums would be thrown their way due to the fact you have to invest time and money to get these vehicles pimped out.

Killing someone can be very hard depending on how well they can either drive or stand their ground. Unless you use auto aim.. Which is f*ckin retarded.

Stop assuming everyone is a noob compared to you. If you get stuck by a sticky bomb, there's two reasons. 1. Your either dumb enough to sit still and let them get you. 2. You crash in a car chase and they catch up to you, meaning you can't drive.

 

They are relatively expensive to buy a lot for the new players saving up for something else so no, there wouldn't be widespread destruction like you think.

 

Guess what, if you don't like it as well, you can go play solo mode or solo session. Don't ruin the sandbox world because you don't notice someone coming at you or beats you.

Or shoot the gas tank. If someone leaves their car unattended while they go in a store, it only takes four shots to make the gas leak and then one to ignite it.

I dodged him for about 5 minutes before he got lucky and blew up the cars next to me causing a chain reaction. I was driving on the freeway from blain county to LS so there wasn't much cover.

Disagreed. I just got back out of Bad Sport, as soon as I joined a guy killed me, rejected my death match and then blew my car up. So I shot him whilst driving and blew out his tires. He deathmatched me and lost, then turned passive on to run me down...

 

The whole bad sport thing is stupid, it's so heavily abused. My friend and I were playing in a game a week ago and he was sent to Bad Sport because a crew couldn't steal his vehicle and sent him messages that they had reported him for griefing...

 

They should do the same as RDR.

This thread has really helped me figure out my goals for GTA V.

 

I'm not really able to get anything done in online without being constantly attacked and killed. It's fun at first, but then it's just more of that - and a little more and really nothing but people trying to kill me nonstop. Every match, all the time whether with friends or randoms.

 

SO, I'm just going to spend all my time destroying other players' personal vehicles until R* finds a way to make things more interesting.
