Just started playing GTA online and so far it's been meh. Don't get me wrong, it looks crazy and amazing but when ever I come across a race, death match or mission and try to play it, no one else appears and I end up being the host and having to wait ages. I can't understand this because considering this is GTA I thought there would be more people playing. Anyone else had this problem?

Happened to me a few times other than that its been ok :)

Can you only take part in death matches, races and missions with people in your session?

Well I like lone-wolfing even if I'm online so I usually dont join missions. Sometimes I do though.

 

No need to start DM's though, the whole game is a big deathmatch as it is.

It happens to pretty much everyone.. Try sending invites to friends, crew members and/or people in your current session..

Oh all my mates are on Xbox and my mates that have PS3 play Fifa :(. How long normally do you have to wait if you are host normally?

Im impatient so I wait for a few minutes, if no one joins then I just do the mission on my own(if I can), honestly it depends. It could be hours before anybody joins, but not ALL the time, there were times where I waited a few seconds and randoms were joining...
