It's not racing. I think the OP is interested in a good race for the entertainment, not just the benefits. Which sucks, because you end up with these damn kids who want to smash into each other. Me and my mates race and do it to each other. The skill part comes in by driving straight whilst looking behind you watching the others, moving out the way so they cant do it. Or if they do block them. There are so many tactics I learnt from GTA4 online so no I know how to win races on this one probably compared to most. I can see if they allowed you to pull out your gun and shoot peoples tires out, you can perceive this as kill or be killed. But the "mission" is to race. There is the Standard type race, and the GTA type race. GTA I believe allows you to pull out all the stops to win the race. Standard is supposed to be an actual race. Trading paint is one thing, but to pit someone or push them into a telephone post or what have you, is just dirty racing. In the end, you have two options. 1 would be to host your own games, and set the rules as you see fit. Also only allowing invited players. 2 would be to not race in this game and play Forza 4 or Gran Tourismo. I wasn't the one complaining. I think everyone should be dirty. Its GTA. Why would we not smash each other up. In my opinion, for years, apart from Flatout, theres been no destruction derby style smash up which is buzzing with players and this fun. This is why I enjoy it. I find it funny someone getting the better of me and going off a hill!! The game is awesome. Everyone will smash each other up. Whenever I have the lead and near perfect laps, the guys behind me slipstreaming off me, instead of zooming past me at blinding speeds, they just intentionally ram into me instead when they get close to my car to spin and sideswipe me to ensure I dont have any chance to overtake them for the hundredth time. Why cant they just simply race? This is not the bloodring demolition derby... Not 1 single goddamn clean race.. I dont mind losing nor winning, just stop cheating to get into whatever car position you want. Anyone who agrees with this and clean races, do you want to trade psn usernames? Mine is Iriquois. Steverino322 Posted October 17, 2013 Share Posted October 17, 2013 I race as clean as I can too a point, I guess you mean Your getting the PIT manoeuvre used on you all the time and this is happening to me as well because your anger wouldn't be from "trading Paint". I found I have to spend majority of the time looking behind me and brake testing people, Just don't let people slipstream you I know its easy to say but make it as difficult as you can for them to stick behind your car for 2/3 seconds. Yea people try to pit me all the time. Had a guy try to do it the other day and he hit me too close to the front and just bounced me sideways and slowed me down a bit lol unfortunately for him this put me in the perfect position to pull a PIT maneuver on him. You should expect them to be assholes and drive defensively do they don't have a chance. If that doesn't work I turn into the biggest asshole in the game and kick them buts. I also try to not let someone get behind me, Cut between cars, I try to make it harder to drive right behind me and prevent them from drafting. OP and any other person that likes to race cleanly on the PS3, add me: ajrunke I only race dirty after I've been rammed. I then seek these assholes out. Someone rammed me at the finish line rounding a corner. I was in first. They hit me and pushed me into a telephone pole and I lost my place. He sent me a message apologizing. I was actually surprised. Edit: Also there isn't enough interference penalty for ramming someone from behind. Ramming someone from behind essentially hurts the person in front with minimal interference to the person doing the ramming. They can literally hit the person from behind and their car barely jolts while the person in front spins out or gets thrown off course. We decided to try racing him, and it was pathetic. Right when the 3, 2, 1 counter stopped and the race started, he spun me right there. We didn't even get 50ft before I was turned around. I won the race playing clean while everyone else was dirty. Dirty and couldn't drive worth a damn. From the start I was in front, WAY in front. So they did what they had to do, they got out of their cars and tried to kill me in the upcoming laps. I still won. I played clean and won, they played dirty and kicked me from the game. I laughed so much. In Test Drive Unlimited 2 you had the Veron rammers. They cheated the leaderboards so being assholes was really all they had left. In that regard, that game was a nightmare. Key to avoiding them is hanging back at the beginning of the race to let the skill-less players fall bump and fall behind, giving you the a nice lead cushion as you pass them. And if a few do catch up, use those brakes to your advantage. Breaking directly on their bumper will usually spin their pathetic attempt out of control.
