Whenever I have the lead and near perfect laps, the guys behind me slipstreaming off me, instead of zooming past me at blinding speeds, they just intentionally ram into me instead when they get close to my car to spin and sideswipe me to ensure I dont have any chance to overtake them for the hundredth time. Why cant they just simply race? This is not the bloodring demolition derby... Not 1 single goddamn clean race.. I dont mind losing nor winning, just stop cheating to get into whatever car position you want. Anyone who agrees with this and clean races, do you want to trade psn usernames? Mine is Iriquois. FYI there are a few douchebags in Gran turismo 5 who race dirty as well. Im pretty sure they would use the same type of arguement you have. Chillmatic Posted October 17, 2013 Share Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) They should add another race mode in addition to traditional races, rally and GTA where you get punished with 5+ seconds or something for crashing into other cars and the victory condition is based on round times not on who drives first and racers start within 5-10 seconds of each other so in order to win you would not only have to drive fastest but clean. I found I have to spend majority of the time looking behind me and brake testing people, Just don't let people slipstream you I know its easy to say but make it as difficult as you can for them to stick behind your car for 2/3 seconds. Why do you expect players to willingly gimp themselves and stay in their position the whole race? GTA racing is aggressive racing and it you gotta do whatever it takes to win. Also there is MANY ways to avoid getting slipstreamed and pit maneuvered.. just have awareness. If someone is coming up to pit you, sideswipe a ped car in front of them so they crash into it or slow down so they speed ahead, slipstream them and then pit them instead.. simple. I don't agree that all players should have a race fair mentality but I will admit slipstreaming is retarded and piting in this game is broken.. but I have to adjust. But I drift clean and do not smash into people on purpose. As for playing with "class", consider it just like Real Life. Some people have class and others are crass. You need to find the right people to associate with. I am very picky about who I play games with because I can't stand people who don't take things seriously, at least a little serious. If someone wants to play bumper cars, then they can play with those who do so, but I throw their asses outta my Forza lobbies with the quickness. Those who want to play serious and want to have mature conversation, they stay..and they will likely get added if they are my kinda people. However, I have rammed people in the ass from slip streaming, but it's not something I consciously do. I've probably cut people off too, especially on turns. It's hard not to. There's a very little chance you aren't going to collide with someone during the course of the race. I've felt bad about winning some of those races where we did unintentionally collide fro one rason or another. Anyway, I'd say it's probably half and half for me. My strategy is: 1)hang behind a couple cars until they take each other out, then sneak past. 2)If somebody is slipstreaming me, and it looks like they're going to hit me, I tap my breaks as they come up next to me. 9 times out of 10 their back end hits my front end and they spin themselves- or sometimes just run off the road and hit something. I do not mind getting slipstreamed or passed. When i see someone coming, i get out of the way and let them pass ..but then some ppl decide to drive after me and delibrately knock me off the road when i gave that player 3 car widths from me to overtake. LOL that would have been much much better than how it is now. If you have actual bikes, like mountain and BMX bikes in a race, and put it on GTA style....it is terrible. You shoot out everyone's tires...and you win. Flat tires on a manual bike make the race take 10x as long...super annoying. I would much rather it be melee only.
