So my Online is still not working...

My online hasn't been working for weeks now, I only got to play for a few hours and then the servers were unavailable and never came back. Now I see my friends play GTAO and everyone out here seems to have no problems, so does anybody have any tips to get it working or at least an explanation as to why it won't work? Really sucks...

Maybe it would be better to post this on R* support. They will be able to provide some technical details or you might even find the answer in the FAQ section.

I was having problems too. Rockstar claims this has to do with network settings. I was skeptic at first, but enabling UPnP on my ISP-router solved all issues for me.

check you NAT type. it should be set to NAT2, for some it's set to NAT3 by default.

 

for ps3, go to internet settings in the ps3 menu and select the first option. you'll see a bunch of stats about your connection, it's in there somewhere. don't know about xbox

could also be your DNS settings on your console

I had a lot of problems as well but since I changed them it works perfectly

dno how exactly it works and if it would work for every1 (seems to be local since all the sites I found were in dutch and pertaining to my ISP)

 

but what I did was change the DNS settings on my xbox from automatic to manual

primary DNS 8.8.8.8

secondary DNS 8.8.4.4

 

now everything works perfectly, but as I said dno if this would work for you

could also try googling GTA online DNS setttings or something

What zwenkwiel said worked for me like a charm on the ps3 so i can confirm changing your dns settings manuelly works.
