Tennis zigzag trick

Recommended Posts

Some people I've played in Tennis online make the ball zigzag when they hit it. It's really weird as the ball goes from left to right and you're not sure where it's going to end up.

Are these people cheating or is just lag?

I noticed this as well, it's obviously some form of swerve/hyper spin but no idea how it's done. I'm an absolute boss at tennis (got the ace down to a tee) so don't need it but would like to know how, so that I can utterly decimate.

It involves putting the right type of spin to counter the type of spin the other player is using against you IE topspin can be negated by backspin IMO

I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO, BUT MY WEBCAM IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.

I have played about 4 different people in tennis matches and I haven't seen this. I use topspin backhanded but it doesn't do what you described. It may be lag or... I really don't know. Wish there was a video of it

I think this is it, do you know what negates the other 2?

It takes some messing around but I've pulled it off on occasion and it's just by playing any old shot, holding the button down instead of tapping it, and pulling hard in a direction.

It has something to do with the magnus effect I think --

What do you mean by pulling hard

Like hold the stick all the way in a particular direction and hold down the button for your shot instead of tapping it

Alright ill try it out thanks!

I cannot make it happen all the time, but I've done it before definitely just by doing what I said. Let us know if you figure anything more concrete out

Just before you hit the ball move the directional stick in the direction you want to hit the ball. It's the same stick you use to move so it's a little tricky because if you move it too soon you can move your character and miss the ball. It takes timing but once you get it down you can have someone running back and forth across their court chasing balls and eventually they won't be able to make it across and will miss a shot. If you just swing it almost always hits the ball right to the opponent. So practice moving that stick just as you hit swing and you should have better results soon.

Damn thanks! Do you see it zigzag yourself too or is your opponent the only one who does?

Not sure I understand what you mean by zig zag at this point but I've not played Tennis online so it may have to do with lag or something when the ball is hit at an extreme angle. What I described just allows you to hit the ball where ever you like instead of straight to the opponent like it does by default if you just hit the swing button.

What I meant was sometimes when I'm playing opponents on gta online when they hit the ball it swerves and goes from the right to left so you can't really anticipate where it's going to land.

It's mostly the opponents who are pretty good at tennis who seem to do this a lot

What does the yellow circle and the red circle mean because I never make those shots.

It either means the type of hit your opponent used on you or the type of hit you need to use to hit it optimally.

I do know that yellow means drop shot, red means topspin etc
